The story is not overdone... So far. But I think Gamefreak is in a hard position trying to cater to both the old fans who loved the simplicity of the old games and the younger generation who like a little more than just "collect monster and fight 'em" formula. But there's still a charm to Black, I'll give it that. Probably not. This region is said to be really isolated from the others, which is why you'll see no pokemon from the previous four generations. And the reason the pokemon got so bad is because the old creator left. The guy who made the original 151 pokemon also made the Johto pokemon, but left after that. That's why the first two generations of pokemon look good to us and everything afterwords looks like crap. It's like if Kojima had made the first two Metal Gear games and then just became the producer of the rest afterwards. Every game from Metal Gear 2 on would've been crap. My neighbor in 3rd grade just started playing the Pokemon games, and he likes the 2nd gen best still, like Leaf Green, and he more recently got Soul Silver. I don't think the added plot matters, he barely reads what he has to read, and just focuses on the actual training, so I don't think the old formula has flaws. I guess though WHAT? Nothing from before even the 4th gen!? Thats is incredibly lame! And Taijiri left? I thought he was the one who came up with the originals. I thought a lot of it was basically his idea. And if you go by what Kojima claimed on the internet, he did retire after number 2, Ha ha ha ha, he just came back to help(completely write and do basically what he did anyway) with 3, 4 and Peacewalker.

The Wii has everything the PS2 had, but the graphics weren't shot as much. And the motion control is better than you might think. Psychonauts is a really underrated game about a kid who can enter into people's minds and explore their deepest secrets. There's also a plot of a guy trying for world domination. It's also a pretty funny game, and deserved way more sells. "Well, I've reviewed your chart, little girl. The bad news is, we're going to have to remove your brain... strap it into an armoured battle tank, and have it shoot down innocent civilians with its concentrated psychic death beams!" ... "The good news is that your insurance should cover the whole thing."

A guy named Ken Sugimori makes them now. Tajiri mostly approves of the story aspects of the games now rather than design the monsters. Tajiri's kinda like the president of Game Freak nowadays. Hahaha Kojima doesn't know what else to do with his time.

Ohhh, riiiiiiiiiiight. What a shame, he is such a good game designer, a disciple of The Shig himself. He's just too cranky to make games these days I guess.
HA HA HA, thats for sure, he's already watched every single movie ever made. Now he just makes bad Castlevania games and works on cutting watermelons with Raiden.

What was it for? And how did it play?

Psychonauts was on the Xbox and PS2, and it was an adventure platformer. The different "levels" were inside people's mind, and the main character Raz starts to find out (by going through people's heads) that other people are being held hostage and he then tries to free them. I liked it, it was funny and had pretty good, unique levels. Shame I never finished it. I will one day.

That sounds really amazing! I actually had an idea like that before, it's a shame it's been done already....
Is it rare? I wanna definately play it now

Hmmm, I don't know. I just looked on Amazon and they do have copies, but the new copies are still over $40 which I guess means it is kinda uncommon to find. Not as rare as ICO though, it's just that Psychonaughts came out the same year that God of War, Resident Evil 4, Guitar Hero, Sly 3, SotC and DMC3 came out. People just were spending their money on more advertised and more wanted games.

Ohh....damn..............
Thats kinda sad. I hate when good games get lost in the hype of others.
I'll be looking for that game wherever I can now. I'll be looking up stuff for it too online

It really reminds me of Invader Zim. It has that kind of touch to it, theres those dark tones to it, and plus, Raz has a voice that sounds almost exactly like Zim. It looks like it has it's good moments, dispite being designed in the US, and it does have some of that hokey american dialoge in places, but it also seems to be slightly more witty at the same time. It also looks overwhelmingly well reviewed, but then again in 2005 everything got good ratings, even though some games back then actually deserved it, but still. In other words, that means nothing, but it does look good. I just didn't see a ton of game play. I'll look for some of that next.

I've heard of the Shin Megami Tensei series, particularly the digital devil saga, but after my foul experence with 3D dot heroes, I question the validity of any work by Atlus games. They are wannabes
I'll add those though

If I play an entry and hate it, I'll delete it from the list, I'll rate everything that I can though. Even if I hate it, I'll write a review about why.

So how far am I in MGS4? Am I at least half way done after finishing the Middle East and South America?

Your about half way. Europe contains about a movies worth of cutscenes, 2 of them in fact. Then act 4 is a little long, not much human contact though, a lot of nostalgia though, if you intend to buy MGS1, do so and beat it before you play act 4, then you'll have some idea of a lot of references made, and can find a bunch of secret items, then act 5 is a ton of cutscenes, a big culmination of the 4 games stories, it's pretty insane. And a lot of action, and final boss fights which are crazy. Then theres an epilogue. Yes, there is an epilogue. Act 2 is by far the biggest act as far as pure gameplay is concerned.
This is why I wish they would release a VR training disk for this game. Then people could get better at sneaking and skills for the game, plus it would be fun to have extra stuff to do, and they would have a chance to add trophy support to the regular game.

I've been watching a guy on Youtube play the first MGS, and I plan on watching his videos on MSG2 and 3 as well. So now that I actually know who most of the characters are (before I really only knew about Snake, Meryl and Octacon) I can enjoy MGS4's story more. Of course, I could just watch the guy's videos on MGS4, but where's the fun in that?

Exactly, plus, on Youtube, you don't get the same hi def experence for MGS4. MGS1 is a great play though, because every weapon you find has some purpose, so it almost has that puzzle feel to it in some cases, and every weapon you find has a use. Unlike in 4 when you pick up like litterally dozens of weapons you will never use.
2 is OK, story is better than gameplay in reality, although having to watch Raiden be a whiney bitch is annoying. But the final Codec call with the GW is mindblowing. Honestly, MGS2 Substance is much better, because the VR missions is mad fun, same with MGS1 VR Missions. It's a lot of fun to do. And hilarious in some cases. 3 is much more cinimatic, a big omage to the Bond films. Gameplay wise it really sets up the gameplay of 4, with the advent of CQC. It has a more complex style though, with the Stamina system, like having to eat, and having to actually do field medicine. It feels like jungle survival in some aspects, while a ridiculous bond film in others. It sets up a background though, for a few of the characters, and it makes a lot of one of the cutscenes in the current act your in make a lot more sense.
I love getting into the story of this game, because its such a complex modern mythology almost, it's detailed on an almost J.R.R Tolken level.

A lot of stuff to watch in this game is rough though, like that Raiden/Vamp battle. And some of the things that happen to Snake are almost disturbing to watch, it's violent in a way that bothers you, which is almost a good thing, but bad at the same time. Why I say it's good, is because violence should be shocking, it should bother you, not like most modern games where it's a silly blood bath like God of War and it's hundreds of clones.

So there's a rumor that the MGS series will get the same treatment as the Team ICO games and God of War games, i.e. being re-released on a Blu-ray disk.
I kinda have doubts because MGS is on the PSN, but I think I'll wait a little longer to see if this rumor is true. Miracles can happen... Like how Ueda said that he was too busy with TLG to re-release ICO and SotC but I guess he wasn't THAT busy. Hahahaha

I watched the ending of MGS4 and turned off the system right after saving, I was that tired hahaha.
I got the Inchworm, Hyena and Panther... trophies? Panther would help explain how I played the game. Hahaha
And dang, I thought Snake actually killed himself in that first scene in the graveyard... Then BIG BOSS appeared and chatted for really, really loooong time and I almost fell asleep and then he and Zero died. Aww.
And during that microwave part, I was so frustrated that Otacon's robot was making it through just fine, to the point where I started fuming why Snake had to cook himself at all. And then everyone was getting shot up, and Raiden was spinning, and Sonny was cheering... gaah! Too much depression in that part.

Yeah, that would be interesting, but they already did release the anthology for PS2, But it would make sense to move them to PS3, dispite the fact that MGS3 has trouble emulating on semi-reverse compatible PS3s. Who knows though, they could figure it out
Wow, I bet, it was pretty late, I stayed up because I was interested in seeing what your stats were.
Yeah, this game was JUST before tropheys, so they put it in that way, besides, they always do ranks at the end of MGS4, do you remember your detailed stats, like time, kills, alert phases, all that?
Yeah, that was pretty insane when he comes in out of nowhere, it's awesome, and really ties off most of the loose ends and explains what little bit big mama didn't know and stuff like that. It is sad though
Yeah, that part is pretty disturbing and depressing, just the thought of what that would do to your body, like literally being cooked to death in such a way. Thats just such a sick thought. And like, how it effects him after he comes out, and everything happening to everyone all at once, it's just so like, disturbing, all throwing up and stuff, it's just like, ugh...
Ahh, good stuff

Time was around 20 hours, kills was in the hundreds, alert phases were 100+, and healing items used was like 30.
I wasn't being very sneaky.

HA HA HA HA HA HA, Yeah, thats for sure
Next round you should definately improve your skills and decrease your alerts and kills. If you can get no Alerts and no kills in this game, the others will seem like a cake walk in comparison.
