Owwww, my eyes hurt.
I've been playing so many games these past few days that my eyes hurt, and that doesn't often happen to me. Between Infamous, Wipeout, Sonic 2, and Di Vinci Disappearence, I just have so much to play, and a lot of down time, so I have nothing else to do, so I end up playing all day nonstop.

That's always fun.
I was counting my graduation money today and ended up with $1060. That won't get me a truly stellar insane laptop, but it'll at least get me a good enough multi-tasking one. And I want to save a couple hundred just for the ICO/SotC collection, TLG, ACR and Skyrim (and possibly Skyward Sword though I won't take my Wii to school) and IF I have any left over it'll be for emergencies only, though if I were to buy all those games on day one I'll need close to $250, so that's about an $800 computer.
And I hope to get a part-time job during school though my parents say that I won't be able to handle work and school at the same time though my class load is quite low.

It's not always fun, when you want to be doing more useful stuff. And plus, oww.
Jesus! I got like, a tenth of that maybe! Ha ha ha ha ha. And yeaaaaah, I guess not, although I think you could probably get a very bare bones Vaio which would be good for upgrading later, which you could, since you have those skills. And a stock Vaio is still very good. And yeah, a good healthy game fund is always nice. Just save what you don't spend on the computer, and buy each game based on how much you really want the game at the day of.
Oh jeez, of course they don't. Ahh well, at least thats an excuse to get as much money from them as you can. That'll teach them to have no confedence in you, ha ha hah a. Get a job anyway, and just don't tell them, and get a ton of money from them, then you can get an awesome computer.

im getting a place in west chester with david from when i transfer, remember. i still go for summer 2 though, i wont be working in july so we'll see each other often im sure.
bus from pottstown goes to norristown which takes an hour and a half, then the bus from norristown to blue bell which is half an hour. i was so tired today i actually slept on the pottstown/norristown bus both ways, and sleeping on a bus is not easy.

also in terms of ridership the pottstown/norristown route has to be the filthiest bus route in the entire SEPTA system.

Thats the one I want! It's the sucessor to my FW series I have dead upstairs! Amazing computer, great screensize, massive processor potential, I'd venture to say one of the best laptops out there. However though, You might wanna look for one just a teeny bit cheaper, because you DEFINATELY want that ADH Coverage. Waaaaaay too expensive to fix without it. If it gets broken with the ADH, they fix it for free, no matter what happens. I'd say when you've got some real cash to play with, that would be one to get in the future, way hooked up.

Yeah, for the past 45 minutes my dad and I were actually looking up Dells and HPs since he gets a discount for them, and I found a $600 HP laptop that was similar to the Sony one in the link. It's not as spiffy looking, but it'll get the job done I feel. It's still going to be a Quad-Core, 6GB RAM, multi-tasking computer, for a discount. :3 And my dad gets all Microsoft Office Works for the low, low price of $10, so I'm actually in a good position for laptops despite not having enough funds for a super computer. I guess it's better that way.

Yeah, I've heard the HP laptops are alright, they are no Vaio of course, but they can compete with them sorta. And for a discount, thats good, plus you don't need the super power yet. You may be better off saving for the Vaio for your next next after this laptop has lived it's life. Then you can Vaio it up right. And that setup certainly doesn't sound like a slacker either, 6 gig ram? Quad Core, $600? Good enough! Ha ha ha.
Does your dad have a computer job or something? Where is he getting these crazy discounts?

My dad works for Black & Veatch which is a pretty big engineering company and so Dell and HP offer discounts to the company hoping to drawn more costumers in. It's about a 20% savings in base value. It's kinda like how UPS will pay for your college if you work for them. And I've thought about it... I don't need a super laptop. I'll need a super desktop when I'm done with school. Desktops can be upgraded and are flexible.

Woah...So like, is he a full on Engineer then!?
Thats a crazy good deal though. And really? I didn't know about that UPS thing, thats interesting.
Hmmmm, indeed. Do they still really do regular desktops anymore? The only stuff I've seen anymore is all that touchscreen nonsense. I guess theres the Mac Pro, but thats like, ridiculous money expensive, like, it makes the Vaio look like one of those Walmart Asus laptops. And it's a Mac.

Yeah, he gets paid six figures and everything! He actually failed most of his classes during his freshman year of college because the legal age for drinking was still 18 back then, so I find that kind of amusing how he had to retake all his math courses and still ended up with a good job. And he's been there for close to 30 years so I'm sure he's been promoted to his current status.
Yeah, many of UPS's employees are college students going for a free ride, but I assume the probability for college students getting jobs there are low since everyone would like their tuition paid for. And I think it's only the shipping job where you get it, where you have to drive the truck around and drop stuff off at houses.
Yeah, there are still regular desktops around, though I'll likely build mine since that's the cheaper route. And screw Macs, they are overpriced computers riding on their "coolness" factor. The only advantage Macs have are the slight increase in multi-tasking ease, but I won't pay an extra $200 to have multi-tasking and no compatible Windows programs working. I like my Word and Sony Vegas.

Wow! Thats crazy! So does that mean he does like legit drafting then? That means his company might have a deal with Alias Software, who distribute AutoCAD and Inventor and all those programs for drafting, which also means he could hook you up with Maya and 3DS Max! And yeah, thats the only way to get that far, by promotion, Engineer is on the upper end of the Drafting trade, so you don't get there easily. I forget all the actual stuff you need before you even have a chance to get to that position, I remember my Drafting teacher teaching us all about that stuff. Thats crazy though! And facinating
Yeah, that kinda doesn't make sense to me though, how could you possibly have time to attend college when your driving around all day for UPS? Thats probably really why you rarely see college students doing it, it's probably a rough schedule for a student.
Yeah, you probably could do that, and it would be one amazing computer indeed. Though I'm suprised it's cheaper to buy every part rather than buy one whole, I'd imagine it would be like a car, where it's worth more in pieces than it is intact. I guess it's convenience fees one pays. You probably know how to buy all the parts anyway though, so you wouldn't have trouble like I would, I wouldn't even know where to start. And yeah, no doubt. I don't like their new running system either. I was a fan of Macs back when they weren't cool, before there was iAnything at all, like Power PC era. But now, they are garbage all the way. Although the stats are impressive, I read a while ago the Mac Pro had like, an 8 core processor, 4 RAM slots, capable of 8 gigs each, 2 graphics cards, 500TB Hard drives and all this other insane stuff. But you still have to use it with all that Mac-iness, and you have to be a billionare. I agree with you, No thanks.

I don't know about that, my dad just knows that he gets Dell and HP discounts. I'm actually not sure what he does, but he sits in an office and overviews the construction, and so he might actually be part-drafter, but I've never really asked him before what his job is specifically. I'm not even sure what his starting position was, I just know that he works at hydro-electric and sewage plants.
I just looked it up and I was wrong, the college kids are mostly in the package handling jobs which are sorting out the boxes in the warehouses and packing the trucks. Which is still not a very fun job but the benefit of tuition help would be worth it.
Well, it all depends on your needs. You could buy a pre-built computer and get the software/hardware warrenty, which in turn will have you lose flexibility because you can't upgrade the hardware without forgoing the warranty and costumer service, or you can build your PC and spend only a couple hundred on new parts every couple of years when compared to spending more money to buy a new pre-built computer down the road. You have to factor in costs of shipping if your buying every single part online. The parts themselves do have warranties, just if your computer breaks down and you don't know exactly what's wrong with it, that's where you'll pay the price.
If you're building a computer for the basic web browsing and programs, it's easier and cheaper to get pre-built; if you are building a gaming rig or something that's going to have a mega program on it or a ton of multi-tasking, and it is going to be close or more than $1500, then it's better to invest in parts. If your computer is going to be cheap-o, then there's no way to compete with companies' deals. And if you don't do research, you might accidentally buy non-compatible parts, so you would have to watch for that.
I'm going to go for a gaming rig, even if I only buy one or two games for it, just because I like powerful computers. Not to mention that it will look different from store shelf computers because I'm probably going to buy a case showered in LED lights and shiny metal. <3

Well, your only a drafter if you draw stuff. If he's supervising the contruction aspects, he might be like a site manager or something, unless he draws stuff too, I'm not sure how all that works, he would know the spesifics, I didn't pay attention enough in Drafting class, I just learned how to do basic mechanical drawings, tons of stuff about AutoCAD, and then eventually Maya when I gave up on Drafting itself, ha ha ha ha. And wow, now thats facinating. Although, where does one get hydro electricity in a desert? I hope not from the Sewage plants.... Ewww..
Ehh, it's not terrible, I remember my time in the mailroom at McNeal, I liked the work, I just hated the people, minus the people who actually worked there, they were straight up crazy, ha ha ha ha. So basically the other students. But I liked the actual indexing and sorting, I wouldn't mind a job like that given the conditions were similar to McNeal.
Wow, you really do know a lot about this, ha ha ha ha ha. Thats really interesting though, all that. I figured as much on the cheap-o computers, they just toss in last gen technology good enough for grandma to play Solitare and Bejeweled and check her Email every couple of weeks, so they have to be super cheap. And I'm sure the warrenty trade off doesn't matter if your good enough to handle the gear in the first place. Like how an LCD panel for my computer costs between $150-300 tops, and yet Sony wants $700 to start to fix it. It's probably cheaper in that way, like fixing a car yourself verses taking it to the dealership, who really want you to buy a new car, not fix the old one.
And yeah, I like super powerful computers too, being able to open anything I want with brain stem melting speed, install any program I want while watching a Youtube video, while running Game Maker, while running a Disk Defrag, while editing something on Photoshop, just doing a ridiculous amount of stuff with zero lag. I love that. And yeah, you could run Steam on there too. And that sounds incredibly wasteful when it comes to electricity, but awesome looking, ha ha ha ha.

Also,asjkhdjkashks8afuysf89ssssss7sa89yf8s9fyas!!!
My knee hurts so bad right now, and I have no clue why. I just woke up this morning with a huge disfiguring pain anytime I bend or move my knee at all. So sitting, standing, walking, everything, hurts insanely bad, and I have no idea why it hurts, I haven't done anything to hurt it! ARGH it's so bad though

We have nearby rivers, plus the Colorado. I know I would find that job boring myself though. LED lights won't use THAT much more energy, but it'll make it look spiffy. Awww, sorry about your knees.

Oh yeah, frogot about the Colorado, but I didn't think anyone would want to see a giant power plant while looking at the grand canyon. How far does the Colorado go into Arizona anyway?
Yeaaahh, most people would, though as far as lame minimum wage jobs though, you could do a lot worse, I'm sure flipping burgers is a lot more boring, ha ha ha ha hha.
Yeah I suppose, I guess I just think about the electric bill too much, although I know LEDs do use next to nothing, like 80% less than regular bulbs or something. I bet it will look awesome. I wonder if theres a program where you could switch the colors of the LEDs on the computer whenever you wanted. If that were possible, I'd someday build a computer (or have you help me build a computer, ha ha ha) so I could do that.
Thanks, it's only my right one, and it just won't stop hurting. My range of motion is a teeny bit better than this morning, but it's still terrible. I just hope it's gone tommarow, I've got stuff to do. The only thing more annoying than the borderline completely unbareable screaming pain is the fact that I don't know why it hurts so much!
