Well, a lot of the Triple A companies like EA and Bioware can't be as creative because they have more than their company on the line, they also have the console holders and stock holders on the line. If their game doesn't sell, that whole part of the industry falls. Indie game designers can take more chance because there is very little external negative impact if their game fails (besides a loss of profit for themselves) and there is the potential for very high positive impact if the game soars.
Duke Nukem Forever WAS set for release 10+ years ago, it's just that every year they kept delaying it until Duke Nukem became its own joke, I remember seeing ads for it in my old Gameinformer magazines. xD But it was fun, and that's what I liked. I enjoy fun FPS, they're just an underground breed these days.

Well I don't think thats the main reason, I think it's more that they are stuck in their ways, and only let a few of the top brass have input anymore, nobody new provides any ideas because they just don't want them too. Look at Square Enix, they are failing miserably, and they still won't come up with an original idea, I read this article that said they have a lot of policies in their company that basically require them to suck. I think it's just everyone trying to create a mold for a good game, just to turn games into a business, and not a creative art. Like movies are now. Every movie that comes out is either based on someone elses idea (basically anymore it's either comic books or games) or is just a predictable piece of garabge that looks exactly like someone elses movie. It's just people not being creative because they don't want to be creative and just prefer selling a set quota and that it. And that mentality I hate.
Riiiiiiight, indeeeed. I thought it was only like 2 or 3 years ago. Well now they just don't exist outside Portal, which isn't even underground anymore. That just falls into the whole making money with games thing. If your main character is a pair of arms holding a gun that shoots at either army guys who speak russian or some vague form of alien, you make a million dollars and call it a day.

Ugh, Church food is one of the skeeviest things there are in this world.
You see, whenever mom decides to buy someone else food with our food stamps and lies about it later, one of the things she does to make sure we don't, you know, starve to death, is go to the chruch and pick up some donations to hold us over until the next time she gets food stamps to waste on other people who can afford food.
it's the nastiest stuff ever. You end up seeing brands that aren't even made anymore, and they claim that all the stuff is new, when it clearly isn't. (just another case of the church lying to the people, nothing new there I guess) Basically rich old people clean out the back of their pantries and bring by random foods every so often that they have left over to, I assume, clense their shame from the surely horrible and unscrupulous ways they came about their fortunes. Of course the food is crap they would have never eaten anyway. My guess is it most of this crap didn't meet the standards to be airdropped into any of the starving 3rd world countries because even the people there must have at least some standards. But when your like me, frustrated with the gross missuse of the funds given to my mom, and hungry as hell, you need to eat something. Blech is it terrible though, jeez. If you old folks really want to make yourselves feel better, you should donate some real ass hotdogs, no one eats that hatfield shit, Ballpark is where it's at. And some real bread too, theres something obviously wrong when bread comes double packaged and clearly looks partially used.

Oh my god my hands are shaking right now, for a few seconds I literally thought my house got hit by lighting, there was a really bright flash, I heard a thump somewhere outside, then the loudest thunder I've heard in years.
I'm sure it was probably a tree though, since the house isn't on fire.

Aww man, don't die!
The weather's been calm and hot here. I spent nearly the whole day making a video to the music of the newest ACR trailer and the project's slow going so far. I want it to be perfect and nyah... >.<

I'll try! All I need to do is get lightning powers like Cole. Then lighting will make me STRONGERRR!!!
Yeah, it was hot until that lighting struck. Actually today was kinda cool out, rain all day. I went out and helped my friend who just got a PS3 pick out a game, he decided on Dead Space, and he's not very into hardcore games, he's very old school, and likes the art more in games than he does playing the games themselves. I actually had to wear a jacket though, it was crazy compared to the 100 degree days we were having all week thanks to the drought and heat in your area actually, ha ha ha ha. And good song! Have you seen the original video for that song? It's almost as epic as the ACR version....Almost. Whats the subject of this particular video?

Hahaha yeah.
Really, Dead Space as an artsy game? Well, it's his money, I shouldn't complain about his choice. I'm actually basing this video off of the official music video, in a way. I'm using the same movie as I used for my video "Storm". I'm just playing with a bunch of tricks and seeing how it looks.

Well not like, artsy per say, his tastes usually gravitate towards simplier games, like he loves Littlebig Planet, and he likes Okami, he just isn't pacient enough to playthough it. He loves the art though. He has odd tastes other than that, and was trying to just get something he could shoot stuff in, but not a first person shooter. I think he liked Dead Space more because it was cheap, and I told him it was scary. It does have artistic qualities if you think about it, for it's ability to keep one scared. I mean it's no masterpiece, but he can appreciate art in a lot of things. He contributed some enemies to Impact, and the boss music, which for being thrown together in half an hour, is awesome.
Indeeeeeeed. I don't know why you don't like that video, it is a good video, dispite the audio sometimes being weird in one or two clips, it was still quite enjoyable. Plus, who doesn't love ancient Japanese instrument rockouts?

Ah, I think I understand now.
But it's obviously lazy. I love the song too, and I was thinking of re-doing the video with the same song but then I thought that I'd try a different song. ^_^

I could actually put the first half minute or so of my video on Youtube so you can see it in beta form.

yeah, it's EA, so laziness can be expected. It's still much less lazy than any other mainstream game, and it's probably the only real survival horror left. It looks like it tried to follow in RE4's footsteps, so you know they used a good basis, ha haha ha.
And yeahhh, they are both great songs. I don't see why you have to redo it. Your first attempt was nice. That other song was practically written for the Assassin though, have you ever looked up the words? It's very Assassin-esque, it was like he knew his song would be used by the Assassins later.
And the finished product would probably be much better. I'm pacient, I don't want to disrupt your artistic train of thought.

Yeah, I'm trying to have the video match the lyrics. And the official music video has Assassin's Creed in the tags. Hahahaha
I probably won't get it done tonight.

Indeeeeed, nice. And yeah, ha ha ha ha ha, I noticed that before. It was in the tags before the game existed, they just knew someday it was their destiny.
Yeaaaaaaah, the greatest artistic expressions cannot be finished in hours alone. I'm sure the finished product will be dazzling though.

It's just that I got up at 6:30 today, so I'm probably at risk of dying of exhaustion. Haha

Ha ha ha ha ha, indeeeeeed.
Yeah, Youtube has always sucked with that, I remember uploading stuff and it taking hours.
By the way, I'm struggling to stay awake too, but only because of bordom because I'm doing 100 laps around Moa Therma in the name of a trophy
And mom isn't home, so yay

I remember back in 2004 when no one knew about Youtube and the upload took about as long as the video was long. And there wasn't an abundance of retards and trolls... Good times...
I don't think that trophy is possible. I tried.
And bleh, I upload the video twice under two different formats and neither worked. I'll try one last time.

I forget when I discovered Youtube, I know Tim showed me. I think oddly enough it was the same day I joined PD. I just remember the extremely Generic player button, with the white on grey and the tiny play button.
Well, we'll find out in 4 laps.....................
Awwwwww... I hope it does this time.

I think it likes AVI files best. At least by my experence, like 4 years ago, ha ha ha ha. It was either Mpeg or AVIs I remember it liked for me.
Also, it definately is possible, it's just difficult, ha ha ha ha. I really should have done that on a shorter course, in Phantom instead of Venom. God that took forever.

THAT Quickly!?
I guess it's popular now that AC used it, so I guess the system is looking for it or something.

Yeah, there was a guy who uploaded the song in his AC video a month ago (epic coincidence) and now it's muted randomly.
Fine, I'll upload it somewhere else then. Youtube was better when copyright was not an issue.

Yeah really, they used to have everything, now they always mute everything, except Linken Park and Metalica, because those videos set to nothing but that music are the only ones I ever find, which is ironic because Metalica are the ones who whine most about this copyright thing. And yet a million videos have their stupid music on them. And I bet Ubisoft saw the video and was like "hmmm, this gives me an idea *assassinates other video with the mute button*"
