WWow....... A lot to respond to............. Ha ha ha ha ha
It does sound interesting. I'd probably just be like my Demon Souls character if I played this game, being a hero all the time, I'd help good people and do great things. I wish you had some of the elements of Demon Souls like Lock on and two handing weapons anytime you want. And how can you make an action based RPG style game without lockon. ANY good Action game/action RPG has lock on, it's just nessesary, you can't fight effectively without it.
Like, if I ever made a more custom character style RPG like this, It would be like a hybrid of this, Demon Souls, Twilight Princess, and Phantasy Star Universe/Portable, where you can explore however you want, insane character customization, with the ability to play with co op party members from your friends list whenever you wanted, with a deep combat system.

Yeah I went crazy. Hahaha
I don't really see the need for lock-on. Even with magic spells, as they usually have a wide range of attack and most enemies will be in your face. The only viable option to have lock-on would probably be with the bow and arrow set, but even then after a certain level with bows you get the ability to zoom in on your target, as well as a slow down time dragonshout, so yeah... Not to mention that most players use bow and arrows for stealth attacks anyway; I should know, I once made a bow and arrow only character and had to resort to sneaking up on my enemies to kill them. I did not miss the option, I just found my way around it by using invisibility and using good aim.
I believe that Skyrim has two-handed weapons, and there are some skills that would make your melee weapons attack heavier; and you can block with them if you so choose not to have a shield.
I'm not even sure if I would miss co-op mode in Skyrim; as I said, the only real viable option would be the arena.

and I just found out that there are CHILDREN in Skyrim, so you never know, Bethesda could be breaking tradition in other ways too. Hahahahaha I thought that everyone reproduced asexually in Elder Scrolls games.

Well I mean ever since Z Targeting, in any game like that, Theres always lockon, and I always use it like crazy, as it makes fighting easier and smarter, as evasion and attack options increase. You can dodge an opponent in any direction while keeping your eyes on them, not to mention if your not looking at the target, you can hit lock on and look at them quickly. Plus you can automatically side strife and flank an enemy when they attack to do an extra effective counter attack or back attack. I just can't fight without it really
Well I mean taking any weapon and choosing to hold it with one or two hands, like using your shield sometimes, while using two hands other times. and just general versitility like that. I'd also like to see a game allow you to learn different fighting styles or disaplines, like halfswording with a long sword or other blade grab type stuff, or being able to choose how you fight, like different styles of combo or special moves based on your fighting style.
I like the idea of having co op spesific sidequests or something, like if you want to explore dungeons together with someone, like make some missions require a party because it would "be too dangerous for one person." and have tougher enemies in bigger quantites or something.
What, like you can have kids!?!?! Oh god!

Farming!? Sounds incredibly action packed. You can use swords, fight dragons, do magic....why would you farm?

I see what you're saying, but who knows, the only people who got to play the demo at E3 aren't spilling, but I'm pretty sure lock-on is (at least at default settings) off. If Skyrim is like Oblivion, there will be some dodge moves, but probably not to the extent of Demon's Souls.
Skyrim starts will your character literally able to have any fighting style imaginable: dual weld swords, sword and shield, sword and magic, magic and magic, double shields; but probably not different ways of holding the same sword. But your stats will increase depending on what you do, like in Final Fantasy II. Someone who specializes in magic will not learn the dodge move of a melee fighter.
Oblivion... sometimes gave you an NPC-filled party, but do you see what the problem is with having online co-op for this sort of game, to have every single player do everything single thing differently? The sidequests are dynamic, they are unlikely to spawn at the same time for everybody, and where one person will be at level 5, the other would be at level 20 or something, and the enemies are at specific levels depending on the level of the player; so they'll either be really hard for the low-leveled player or too easy for the high-leveled player. And people who start out as a mage will get different sidequests--the Mages Guild--than people who started out as a melee fighter--the Fighter's Guild. It's just... it's too hard to do online for the pre-set sidequests, unless Bethesda releases some co-op specific sidequests, but that takes a risk of losing the immersion of the game.
I guess Bethesda could add an online expansion pack, but we'll see.
I don't know if you can have kids, just that you can marry. If I do have kids though, I'd probably take the Fable 2 route by buying them a house and then murdering them inside for being annoying. Because I'm a horrible father. ._.

Like black-smithing, which can you repair your equipment, and cooking to help you cook your food into better health items. Apparently, you can become some kind of normal citizen, helping with the economy. As I also found out that you can sabotage the economy by killing workers or destroying their equipment to do stuff. Hahaha

I just don't see why you would do those other jobs when you can slay freakin dragons! Ha a hah ha ha. And having an ingame economy like that feels kinda pointless in a non online world.
Another way they could do online is maybe have a Citystate within Skyrim thats dedicated to dragonbloods, and when you enter this citystate, the game automatically and seemlessly goes online, so that when you enter, most of the population is made up of player characters, with a few NPCs in the mix. So everything that happens in this city happens at the same time for all characters in that city. So then you can have those other trades and have a city with a totally player driven economy, so players can set up shop, buy buildings, and other stuff like that. Plus then you can have special event sidequests, kinda like GT5 has seasonal race events, where you have to meet certain parameters to do the race, but in this case maybe the mission requires people of a minimum level of x, someone of the following classes, x, x, and x, x many total people and stuff like that, just random NPCs walking around the town looking for help from the dragonbloods, for all different kinds of jobs. And then all the jobs would take place within this special citystate, which would have a large countryside with dungeons and stuff hidden within it.
I want to like this game, but there are just things that make me lose interest about it.

Hahaha yeah, I guess black smithing would be helpful though, since you could then fix all your weapons for free instead of paying an NPC to do it. Bethesda just wants their game to feel alive. In fact, there was a very funny glitch about how they had wired the AI of Oblivion to eat food every so often, and the prison guards had kept running out of food and killing the prisoners to get their food (and thus killing a quest-giving character in the process) so Bethesda just left more food in the guard barracks. Hahaha You're idea is really cool though, you should make an RPG like that! Since I really really doubt Bethesda would add online modes due to their games' nature. Seriously, there has been enough outcry from Elder Scrolls fans because Bethesda changed the armor slots from 6 to 5. xP I personally would rather play a solid single player experience than an RPG that added online mode just to suit the changing times. It's like if Ueda added online modes into his games... it'd just seem extremely odd to me. Also... 100 days until Skyrim hits stores! <333

Well yeah, but are you supposed to carry an entire forge with you when walking around a dungeon? Ha ha ha hah. I guess you could buy a house and turn it into one or something, just a secret hideout to keep your extra gear and fix your weapons, which could be helpful. But then you lose skills you could use for battle skills, so being able to fight harder for the extra money to pay a professional to fix my gear seems worth it to me, ha ha ha ha ha
Wow, thats just a little ridiculous. I mean it should be a facade, where it looks like the world is alive, not making it so it sort of is, it's like if people ate in movies, a lot of stuff that happens in movies would be much more awkward if people in movies and TV had to take time out to eat and go to the bathroom. Like if Jack Bauer got food poisoning during an episode of 24, that would be one lame episode, just people knocking on the door of the stall in the mens room asking if he's OK for an entire episode. The point is, some things should just be left out, ha ha ha ha ha
Well yeah, it just seems silly that no one has thought of it yet. And don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of single player only experence in RPGs, I'm a huge fan of that, it's just when your dealing with this kind of RPG, the kind without set characters, I feel like you should get a chance to show off your creation to other players, show how you build your character and make him or her look, fight, everything, so your not just doing it for only you to see. Plus I love Co op in games, especially games of this kind where different fighting styles can mesh together and friends can help each other. If it were a game with set parties and characters the old fashioned way, then I would never want Online in that.
Indeeeeeed. And almost less than a month to ICO COLLECTION!!!!!

There are items called 'Repair Hammers' which you use to fix your weapons, and I assume having some skill in smithing will keep them from breaking so often like they did in Oblivion. And in Oblivion, you could buy a castle to keep all your stuff in.
Hahaha If Bethesda wants every NPC to have a day job, then they will GIVE them a day job--to earn their bread. xD
Man, I just don't know. Skyrim is already over 300 hours long, how much more stuff do you need to do?! Hahahaha
Squeeee~~~! Mustbuymustbuymustbuy\\\

Oh, like Eds Grindstone in Demon Souls. I thought you would need an Anvil and fire and all that stuff to do real Smithing. That would be better, so you would have to set up shop for real and stuff. And NICE, just like Nicolus Cage!
Ha ha ha ha ha, I guess so
UGH, 300 hours!?!?! If you can't achieve 1% per hour, then a game isn't even worth it. In my mind a perfect game is less than 100 hours, anymore than that is just mind numbing. I spent 200 hours on Dragon Warrior VII and wasn't even half way through it, and ever second over 120 hours was just depressing. I wasn't incredible at the game exactly, it was my first real RPG, but still, I just didn't enjoy it after a while.
YEEEEEEEEEESS. I'm now about 95% sure that will be a day 1 for me.

I'm sure if you did the main story it'd be closer to 20 hours, it's just all the sidequests and dungeons that tack on the hours. I never even beat Oblivion's main quest because I found the whole thing annoying to play so I just messed around in the sandbox world. The time is player inflated, Bethesda does not mean for people to try to do everything on their first playthrough obviously. Just only what they WANT to do. Oh man, I hope my classes aren't too mind-numbing for me to not be able to have the freetime to play it.

Well yeah, Still, even then a game shouldn't take more than 100 hours until it's just the player messing around, like exploring places for fun or exploiting the fact that your at 100% completion and your just running around at full power ruining people with the rarest gear in the game just for fun or looking for glitches because your bored. Like Shadow of the Colossus. What I mean is ALL developer based objectives should be complete by 100 hours, everything after that should be player created, like speed runs or doing spesific tasks special ways.
Awwwwwwww, I don't think it'll be a problem, you have what, 3 classes this semister?

I have 5 academic based ones, plus the fencing class. Chemistry, Chemistry Lab, Intro to CS, The Internet, and Calculus. Due to the nature of science and math courses, I could be look at at least one homework assignment a night... but at least there's no crazy book assignment and essays due to the lack of English. Ahhhh, the sound of freedom~
Chemistry should be easy enough, as well as Calculus if I pay attention. The CS classes could be hit or miss, I don't really know how far into programming the class will take me. And the internet class... I don't even know how it will work since it is online. :x And fencing is just a workout class 2 days a week.

Oh wow, thats a truely full time schedule. Hah a ha ha
Well I'm suprised they'll let you take the CS class without already having done the calculus class. And I really have a feeling if the internet class is what I think it is, you'll literally barely have to think in a class like that, aha ha ha ha. "This is called a WEBSITE! To get to a website like this one, you must type the URL of the website your looking for into the ADDRESS BAR! To do this, RIGHT CLICK the ADDRESS BAR and begin typing in the URL of the website!"
As for the chemistry, if your good at that, that should be no real problem, calculus is the only one I'd worry about, but thats me, your you, your super smart so you can handle that much, ha ha hah a.

The Calculus is a co-requisite. I could have gotten away with having Pre-Calculus instead. HOPEFULLY the internet class is more than that. hahaha I think it might go into HOW the links and internet works, not really what it IS. The textbook is huge. >_> And the class is non-live, so the teacher won't actually teach me, they'll just post assignments in my e-mail and when they're due. I think I have to learn most of the stuff from the textbook. I'm good at the science bit, not the math bit. But I have heard stories of people who did not get math at all in high school and suddenly have an epiphany in college so maybe I'll be one of those. ^_^

So wait, the two classes work together as opposed to taking one first, then doing the other? Interesting
HA HA HA HA, yeah, that sounds a little daunting, I don't see why anyone would need to know that much. I guess if it's online, the person taking the class would need to know how to use the internet in the first place to be taking the class, so I guess it is a little deeper, ha ha ha ha. At least now you'll have a chance of becoming a crazy cyberpunk hacker/hero for post apocolypse world, ha ha ha ha.
Indeeeeeeeeed. The theroy stuff I love, the math aspects destroy me. And yeah, hopefully I get to be one of those too, which would be awesome for me, ha ha ha ha. But if you do it, let me know your secret to it, ha ha ha ha.

Ha ha ha ha hah ha ha ha, I hope not! I'll be the guy looting Gamestop and building weapons in the woods, Then while I'm at home at the secret base, I'll make sure your non android body is fed and not attacked while you wage warfare over the internet as we fight in the resistance against the robot overloads.

Holy... The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Collection Edition includes an amazing 12" dragon statue, a 200 page artbook, and a 'Making Of' DVD for low, low price of $150! ' The pre-order edition just includes a cloth map of the game world, you know... the kind of paper that is water resistant and stands the test of time like real maps! I think I'll just stick with the standard edition and get my paper map instead.

AHHHHH! Pre orders are pretty ridiculous now, you just get so much stuff, and spend more and more on them.
The map that came with Oblivion was kinda...laminated and had a kinda cool texture, but that sounds better.
