The Limbo Demo. The Publish was like an hour early, it was supposed to be a way to tell you to come get it fresh off the server while it was still fresh and hot and had they nice fresh game smell.

I know your not a Demon Souls fan, but I just wanted to leave some observations here. For one, I noticed girl players I've encounted online are way better than guy players. They just seem to be amazingly good at the game, they are usually well rounded Royals or Mages with brilliant melee skills as well. I've also noticed that most guys use that silly Brushwood gear which is so heavy and ridiculous. Also, New Game+ is just ridiculous. I'm getting so mad at this game, because I just can't beat anything, and can't get enough souls to level up and get stronger either. Plus, I'm running out of healing items and can't find more on enemies, so thats pretty frustrating as well. I've just been in limbo for well over a week. I can't get any of the remaining trophies until I beat at the very least 2 more Demons....Again...
I hope in Dark Souls the Multiplayer is better, so we can play together more directly, as in playing together more exclusively and having mics and stuff. Just in general more refined multiplayer.

So I just witnessed greatness
I just watched Hippy Dylan's Mom beat Super Street Fighter IV. She mashes buttons like a maniac, but she's better than her sons at it, she gave me an interesting fight. I still won, but she beat me one round. It was amazing to watch her beat everyone in Arcade mode without barely getting touched. She uses Zangief too, which is hilarious. God it was awesome though, ha ha ha.

I still wish I had SSFIV or MVC3, the latter so we can play together!

I know what your probably gonna say, but I'll ask anyway. So I have a chance to get MVC3, should I?

I wouldn't, knowing that there's a better version on the way.

OK, not what I thought you'd say, ha ha ha ha ha
Well yeah, I just have an oppertunity to get it, since it will be a birthday gift, and the price is sigificantly lower. The pros to this are the previously mentioned, plus that we can play together a lot, the cons are what you mentioned. What do you think I should get if not that?

Well if it's a gift then yeah, I would get MVC3 then.

And in other news, I got a chance to play Oblivion last night. It's like a really easy, less sophisticated, very PC game-esque version of Demon Souls. Certain aspects of depth are good, while others are very unpolished and primitive for this generation. The story is also really not that impressive, it's very Cop Show stereotypical, not good whatsoever. I'm now however interested in looking at the details of Skyrim and seeing if it has built apon the things I don't like about Oblivion.

I've played Oblivion since 2006 and for the time I thought it was a very stellar game--though broken in ways--it was indeed a very cool 80 hours I put into it, and I didn't even touch upon the story missions. I really enjoyed the Thieves Guild and The Dark Brotherhood due to the sneakiness aspects of it, and I also liked the fact that the game was extremely non-linear.
In retrospect, Skyrim looks positively amazing compared to Oblivion. The new engine allows for more dynamic dialogue (so every character doesn't just stare you in the fact), the AI is smarter and more dynamic (not everything will blatantly attack you), and it has DRAGONS~~~ <333
Skyrim also has a bigger map, more varied environments, more races, and better 3rd person gameplay. Also, the quest system is more... dynamic (I need a thesaurus xD); like, if you kill someone that was needed to give you a quest, instead of losing out on that quest forever, a relative or friend of the person might give you the quest instead--though only because it might be a dangerous quest that could get you killed. ;3 You can also pick up quests by hearing NPCs talking about a secret cave or an event.
Also, if you drop an item on the ground now, instead of it being there for 3 whole game days, the AI system will kick in and events such as a person handing it back to you ('did you drop this?') or two guys fighting over the item can occur.

Hmm, interesting. I read about a lot of this stuff on Wikipedia today, and I like a lot of the technology this game is bringing to the plate, like the Creation Engine, for the snow and stuff. A lot of the stuff you mentioned does sound awesome
There are just a few dealbreakers for me. One, there needs to be a lock on system, since Oblivion doesn't have one, and two, one I know won't happen which is a little bit of a definate deal breaker, is online co op. I want to see a matchmaking system on a game like this where you can play with your friends online easily. And I have a feeling this game would have been great for it. I read the story, and it sounds better than the story of Oblivion, but still....very Tolkien wannabe, tons of overkill silly mythology and such. It tries too hard in that way. Lots of world mythology to compensate for a lack of character drama, which ends up being boring. I just like the dragon stuff. If only dragons were ridable and stuff, so this could be a decent dragon game as well as a decent action RPG.
Overall, I'm a bigger fan of what the game represents for future game technology than I am of the game itself. It could be decent though.

Though that dropped item thing would be lovely in Demon Souls when your above your item burden and have to drop something important. Just having someone give it back to you.

Yeah, I love how the snow will fall in real time, and I did notice during some dragon fight gameplay that when the dragon crashed to the earth the dirt and grass got leveled in a very realistic way. And that it interacted with the environment in a smart way too, like gripping onto the sides of a tower with its claws, and angling itself to fly in a circle over the player as it breathed fire upon him. Yeah, but Bethesda won't include a lock on system since this series has been going on for over 20 years now and there's nothing gamers hate more than easier (or changed) gameplay styles (for some reason >_>)... they MIGHT--and this is a big might--add online co-op for the arena fights. Oblivion had a great champion arena place where you could bet on your own fights, and it was easy money once you had enough good gear and magic spells. Co-op could work nicely there, especially with the bidding system in place. ;D Yeah... you're kinda supposed to be a blank slate so your character won't really have any back story (unless Bethesda finally breaks that tradition) and the blank slate character is the easiest form for people to grasp to make the character feel their own. Since there are no cutscenes, the story must be drawn out by the player's actions and feelings, not by the creator's static dialogue. Essentially, most Elder Scrolls games provide the setting and mythology, and the player creates the present story. For instance, in my last Oblivion file I was a scanty-clad, sword-drawn hero who never decided to save the world and instead I spent days trying to find the mystical unicorn; and, once found, I went hunting for vampires. Bethesda hasn't said much about the dragons, only that if you kill one you'll gain its powers, so there's no word yet on whether you can fly on them or not... only that you can indeed summon one eventually. If Bethesda does not make it happen, you can be sure that the modders will implement it anyway. A modder for Oblivion added a flying carpet... so yeah. Hahahaha

For instance, in my last Oblivion file I was a scanty-clad, sword-drawn hero who never decided to save the world and instead I spent days trying to find the mystical unicorn; and, once found, I went hunting for vampires. And afterwards I had my sneak skill up real high so I started stealing items from stores and selling them back to the owner and they would instantly notice that it was their's and they'd go insane and freak out and the guards would run to come stop me and arrest me for theft. Hahaha So I usually killed everyone in the village and they never respawned back. :s And I would forget that I had a bounty on my head and talked to guards anyway who would then attack me and/or arrest me. Heh. Seriously, I can't wait to do stuff like this in Skyrim. Especially since it looks like my favorite Rocky Mountains... and 16 square miles of it <333 I can't wait to explore it. The best part about the Elder Scrolls series is that you can go anywhere, anytime, whenever you FEEL like it. You never need to talk to people to force locations to open; you see a cave or dungeon, you can gladly enter it (and die, if the enemies are too strong ). Skyrim is going to have over 100 unique dungeons, wooo!

Though Oblivion could explain why I never got that far in Demon's Souls. Yes, I love the feeling of satisfaction after defeating a difficult boss or finally getting through a part of a level I spent hours trying to do, but I think the linearity and the lack of freedom is what I didn't like in Demon's Souls. The game is frustrating in several ways, while in Oblivion you can get the same experience of defeating hard baddies with your sword without the whole 'reset the level' thing and the loss of all your progress.
I have a love-hate affair with Demon's Souls. I love the gameplay and RPG goodness, but the game hates me to a point where I feel like I'm a legless child trying to swim upstream. D:
