Forgot to mention since Andre is awesome and wanted to play Gradius on my PSP, he got the collection on there now. Meaning I can play Gradius whenever I want...
Yay! ~

What style. Like terrible FPS games or Metal Gear.
I'd recommend Metal Gear Solid. All 4 of them.
If you are talking side scrollers like Gradius and Megaman, Vectorman and Ranger X are two good 16-bit side scrollers. They should be available online.
Also, on PS3 there is a demo for a new Galaga game called Galaga DX if you want space style.

Wish I had Earthbound right now...
That game seems great. Anyway, going to play P4 once my mom stops vacuuming. She came in at the worst time, the worst time...
Also, sucks that we lost out copy of Tron Bonne years ago. Dammit I want another copy!

Preferably side scrollers because I am a filthy casual that likes stuff like Metal Slug.
I'd get paid to play that...

If I can recommend a particular Rainbow Six, I'd go with Rogue Spear. The planning stages of the missions were much more sophisticated than in the first Rainbow Six. You could actually set AI for your alternate teams to do various things like wait on go codes, follow coordinated routes of attack, plan ambushes, all that good stuff. Graphically it's comparable to Golden eye anymore but it's worth it for the strategic stage.
Word is the PS port is actually the worst one, the PC and Dreamcast versions were apparently much better. There was supposibly a huge modding community for this particular game

I don't think I'll ever understand the appeal behind playing games on the PC besides emulators...

I hear such good things about Earthbound, but I've never played it or seen anything beyond Smash bros about it
Well, those two sidescrollers I mentioned were the ones I knew from Sega Genesis. They pushed the graphical capabilities of their system and had amazing soundtracks.

I don't think I'll ever understand the appeal behind playing games on the PC besides emulators... I can't either, people make a big deal about how the graphics can be SO MUCH BETTER but it costs like 5 grand to get to that level anyway, when a new PS4 is $400 and plays the game just about as well with all the same features. Plus Keyboards are meant for typing, not games.

PC helps for some genres like RTS where having a lot of hotkeys on command makes things faster, and a mouse is much more accurate for shooters, but beyond those two things, a PC port's only appeal is the graphical upgrade some games get.

A decent $500 PC play games on high quality these days, the prices of parts have gone down a lot. In the long run a PC player saves more money than a console player because games are cheaper on PC due to digital copies and freeware.

The games are cheaper if you know how to buy them for either. The advantages are minor really. Not worth it to have to play on a 21" screen.

They had 2 I think on one of the Sonic Mega Collection games...
So I played a little bit of it before.

Played Kirby Super Star and Persona 4 last night. Started a new data on P4 and got bored at the beginning because I've seen it before.
Maybe finishing Pokemon X would be a better idea for right now. I've beat just about all of the gyms.

Vectorman 2 sucks compared to the original, much better atomosphere in the first game
Yeah, the Sega Mega Collection has some good stuff, like Shinobi. But no Ranger X

Ranger X I have never heard of...
And I do not think my copy of Year of the Dragon works too well... Have to go buy another copy...

Another sidescroller, more obscure than Vectorman. Great Graphics, looked better than most SNES games at the time and it was on Genesis. It's Japanese name was EX-Ranza I believe.
Thats a shame
You can just get a digital copy on PSN, it's like, $10 on there. I think all 3 Spyros are on there, along with all 3 Crash Bandicoots and Crash Team Racing.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYMD-hyEECkRanger X gameplay. You use the vehicle to change your weapons as well as the way they showed it, each mission has one of two vehicles depending on the needs of the level, like theres also a flying ship who supplies air support in some missions And they somehow found a way to immitate that Mode 7 style that SNES had without actually having it, ha ha
