Yes! Precisely!
Oh yeah, I guess South Korea was more or less Joseon, so that fits better! Either way, they were all good archers. I guess in the Goguryeo era South Korea was mostly Silla and Bajeke.

reading wikipedia about kroea. a united korea would be so cool. goldman sachs projects that a united korea would have a bigger economy than japan in 2050, which would probably make it the 4th in the world at that point(china, india, us, korea, japan). the west would be back behind asia economically.

Woah, that would be crazy. Though it seems highly improbable with the insane people who run North Korea and how they, you know, hate South Korea. I wonder if it would ever be possible

I'm SO sick of swimming. SERIOUSLY! And gay Gymnasics
But they'll have to be done swimming and Gymnastics before the end of the week, so hopefully next week will be other good stuff, like more Boxing and Fencing, or at the very least SOME Football.

I think it's just gay.
They keep talking about Taekwondo starting next week, maybe they'll actually show it! AND A KOREAN BETTER WIN IT, even though it is mostly Japanese in reality, it's the Japanese take on original Korean Martial arts.

They just showed a little puff piece for Fencing, with Shawn White and some other loser taking on our fencing team and showing the different Disicplines. Epee looks REALLY fun. I thought Saber would be cool, but it looks a little too quick for my liking, and very little defence, you just have to be quicker on the draw. Fencing looks like fun.

Saber is literally a hit-first basis. It's my least favorite.

Epee is a total crazy-fest though since the whole body is a target, as opposed to the other two.

If you watch professional epee, you'll see how defensive epee can be. Saber on the other hand, is more... lenient. Since the side of blade counts as well as the tip... Though only above-the-belt hits count. I prefer foil, the fact that you have to aim for the torso adds more strategy since parries are actually effective and it teaches people to aim instead of flailing the sword to get any hit in. And mainly because I don't much experience with the other two styles. I think casual fencers are more fun to watch anyway. Like the people at my school www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGfUVcNUjyA

I dunno which I like the theory of better, because Foil is good, I just don't like actual foils, but they all use the same basic sword, so all styles being the same, I guess maybe Foil is the best, but I like the theory of Epee too, since getting a good stab anywhere in reality would probably at the very least disable a target.
The sword fighters I guess were alright, but their footwork was weak. VERY weak. And whats with the geniuses with the rubber knives? That was just sad. With knives, you don't make blade to blade contact, the blades are short enough that one can just grapple. I'd love to learn some formal knife fighting techniques, besides of course the regular Martial arts experence I have. And that dude with the black armor had a really cool sword.

The swords are different. Epee is a heavier sword, though sabre is pretty much a foil sword. Rapiers would be fun, those are flatter. It was fencing club, not the class. My instructor promotes good footwork but doesn't kill you if you mess up. I would say 80% of people in both the class and club are beginners. You saw them grapple a little, but honestly, those two looked nervous. hahaha You can literally walk home with major brusies with the daggers and they didn't look too keen with getting bruised. This class is all in good fun, not for self defense, it has never been about self defense, though you can ask the instructor for private, self defense like lessons involving knives. He'llteach you just about anything. And yeah, full body armor guy. There's always someone. hahaha xD

Really? I just mean they all have the same form, no actual like broadswords or something, ha ha ha. My weapon of choice is the Hand and a Half Sword.
Yeaaaaah, you could just clearly tell they were REALLY early in the class. I enjoyed getting drilled on footwork because I already started with DECENT footwork, because I instinctively bend my knees in a fight anyway. And that sounds like it would be fun, I'd love to learn actual knife fighting, I already learned defence, but I'd like to learn more, plus actual proper offense. I'm already naturally good, but I'd love to get better. I would have so much fun with your class, ha ha ha ha, i'd be there like, constantly.
HA HA HA HA, you mean he just brought that stuff and actually got to use it!?

Yeah, you are not required to buy body armor, people just show up in it. xD

And are they allowed to use it? I would imagine not since it could provide a disadvantage to anyone using the standard issue. Not to mention that giant hulking sword looked a little unsafe, ha ha ha ha.
And it seems kinda weird that you don't have to buy it, I had to buy my Gi for martial arts, but I guess thats a little different

Well yeah, why not? It's actually a disadvantage, bigger target The school supplies the... supplies haha

I guess thats true, but reguardless, I'd figure they would want no one to have a disadvantage so everyone could learn the same
I wish they did here, it's a ripoff. You AT LEAST have to buy books, right?

I was gonna say, wow, I thought you were in the greatest college ever. The only college you didn't have to buy anything in and you could carry a big hulking knife around if you wanted. AND they would teach you how to use it!
