So today I had my first lesson with a new driving school, since the last school was impossible to get to. My instructor sounds like Tom Waits or something, very ridiculously deep voice, talks in very weird lingo. But yeah, we went out for a much longer, much better lesson. we did a ton of roads around here, pretty much though every local school district. I made a few mistakes, my primary problem is accelerating too much in turns, like a race car driver would, except too early. Also, I try to carry too much speed into turns. We were on an unfamilar road outside Limerick I beileve, and we were coming up on this turn, it looked really small from a distance, there was a big tree in the way so it was a blind turn, and I was approaching it at 45 miles an hour, and didn't brake very much, and it ended up being this super tight over 90 degree turn, so with all that speed I veered into the other lane quite a bit and the instructor had to stop us. Other than that it was very smooth, I got use to traveling over 30 miles an hour, and got comfortable with it. I have to learn in some shitty honda, but it doesn't matter, It'll help me drive my beautiful car sooner.

My car runs so nice on Premium gas. So amazing. I just gassed up again.
Also, a slightly unrelated transportation question. Tim, Dylan has a road bike thats a little tall for him, but he thinks it may fit you, he wants to know if you need a new bike.

Are you still riding your bike around? Or are you using other modes of transportation now

So lesson two is now complete. It was a night lesson. It started at 6 and just ended now. We started off learning Parallel parking. That isn't nearly as hard as people make it out to be, I mean it isn't super easy or anything, but it's not that hard either. It took me 2 or 3 tries to get it down perfect. After that we drove again. This time I only made 1 or 2 mistakes, the first being I crept a tiny bit into the other lane on the bridge in Collegeville, which some asshole made me aware of, I guess he didn't see the student driver liveries on the car OR the GIANT sign on the roof, it's not like I was too much in the other lane, a couple feet, but still, he didn't need to ride my ass and beep at me. The other was just on the outskirts of Skippack, when I hit my peak speed limit of 60 MPH, not being used to that speed, as we were going down hill, then we went back up hill and slowed down dramatically, which made a driver behind me come dangerously close. I was just expecting too much from a Honda I guess, because I put my foot down a bit, but it just wouldn't go as fast as I wanted it to. Other than that, it was pretty easy. Night driving isn't as bad as I expected. I actually recognised a road because of how it looked dark. I've found that I'm actually less distracted on dark roads. Also, sun glare is honestly so much worse than headlight glare. The stupid ass light knob in the honda is terrible though, turning it, THEN flicking it. The switch in my Volvo is much easier. All the switches I notice in that car are pretty ridiculous, like the gas/trunk release, seems utterly pointless. The more I drive that car, the more I hate it. And it is indeed my nemesis, the Civic. It figures that I hate it so much, it is as bad as I expected it to be it seems.
Also, I hate my driveway, it really sucks, getting into and out of, it just sucks.

So I got a letter from Volvo today. The mothership was calling me home I thought. Apparently the company wants to do some special service to my car based on some minor issue they found involving the heat shield on the gas tank or something, and they wanna fix it for free. My only concern is they'll fix the proble, with some shitty chinese parts and reduce my cars build quality by chinesing up my car. I dunno. All I know is the air conditioning in my car is the bomb.

So I'm pissed off
My tire on my car that was bad? Apparently it was rotted from the inside, probably since I bought it. So in that case I definately got screwed. So it's irrepairable, so I need to buy a whole new tire. Also, apon inspection, my brake pads are low as well. So I'm gonna have to get some money together to fix all this. My tire looks like it's gonna be about $100 prolly more, and I'm not sure what the brake pads are gonna cost. Fuck, thats annoying though.

So my regular 5 lessons are complete. I have one lesson left, and I'll be doing that one at the testing center to practice for the test itself. So for the next few weeks or so, I'm gonna need to do some extra practice with other people I can find, hopefully Lisa and Dylan whenever he's available. I'm almost there.

So I did something today that I don't often do
I assumed something was a sure thing before it was. It's a lesson I've learned all too often in this process. But today I made the mistake once again
I took my Licence test today, and did everything perfect except for one single intersection, and a rule I wasn't aware of. Apparently on some intersections, you can't creep up before a turn. I always thought you could do it at all intersections but apparently at this particular one that wasn't the case. Combined with the fact that I went a little into another lane in a turn, which it was a 4 lane road, so it wasn't like I went over a yellow line, I failed. Everything else was perfect, almost artistic, except for that one intersection. It was something I wasn't anticipating because I didn't go in prepared enough, assuming it was already in the bag. I went in over confedent. This will make it so I can pass next time though, I won't make the same mistake twice. I have pleanty to be confedent about, I just can't assume it's in the bag until I'm holding that licence in my hand.

So today I have another lesson
Why? Who the hell knows, arbitrary bullshit thanks to a lack of communication and such. Ahh well, the extra practice couldn't hurt.

So, remind me never to drive without glasses ever again.
Never.
God I never realized just how terrible my vision really is, at close range it's good at all, but while driving, oh god, it's straight up terrible. I overreact like crazy, as well as under react all at times when I shouldn't, it's awful.

Yeah, me too, I just forgot, if I would have been pulled over or got into an accident, I would have been screwed. If the test would have been yesterday, I would have been sent away on the spot.

I am so fucking angry right now
I got screwed today. I didn't pass my test again, and I did everything perfect.
The reason I didn't pass today was because some dick decided he needed to get to wherever he was going a few seconds faster.
So I was sitting at the exit to the shopping center, and I was getting ready to pull out, and I looked a bunch of times, I let all the traffic go, I look again, it's clear, I go. Out of nowhere some faggot in his Civic rips out of nowhere beside me and beeps his horn at me. I do the rest of the test flawlessly. We get back and he says, because he beeped his horn it was considered an unsafe merger. Fucking dick.
The thing that pisses me off the most about this is how fucking easy this test is, it's the stupidest, easiest test in the world, and I can't beat it. I did everything right this time, and I still can't crack it! What the fuck!?

its not your fault. other drivers are stupid and they dont give a fuck about anyone else usually. it wasnt your fault at all and dont take it like that. it just proves that you can do the test, you CAN kick its ass no problem! thats all it proves

Yeahhh... I guess your right about that....
But it still really makes me so mad that it was someone elses fault that I failed. I really wanted to have my licence yesterday, so next week I could get my car insured and stuff. It feels so stupid that I have to say I failed the test twice before I passed, on the easiest driving test in the world. It's almost embaressing.

JDLAJLKDASJKFLSDJFJHASJKHFLASHFJKLAS
I fucking hate driving tests!!!!!!
The American Department of Motor Vehicles is the construct of Satan. You wait for hours just to pay them money for nothing. It sure as hell isn't for the great job they are doing, our roads are garbage, the people who work at those places are only half functional retards, and the instructors are used car salesmen scamming people in their own cars instead of selling them other cars to scam them with. I failed today because the DMV really wanted the $5 I had to pay them for a new permit that badly. Apparently I didn't stop for a pedestran, when I DID stop, and he could decide if he wanted to walk or not, so I started moving so his old ass decides to start walking. Of course I was moving at less than one mile per hour, and there was literally absolutely no chance I was gonna hit him, he was well over 30 feet away from me for sure, and there was a speed bump between us. I did everything flawlessly, I even had the same thing happen to me that happened to me last time, and I didn't fail for it this time, which clearly shows the system is somehow corrupt. In the last minute of the test the guy started acting odd and knit picked everything I was doing, even if it was correct. It's clear this place is no good. So I'm going somewhere else next time to HOPEFULLY have some better luck.

Well, nothing was open yesterday, so It'll be monday or tuesday before I can get my insurance and tags, then I need to find a place I can get it inspected, since the douche who sold it to me stole the stickers before we got it towed home.

Yeah, I'm just glad it's over. It was funny though, because my permit looked so new, they all thought I was taking the test for the first time, so I just went along with it, Ha ha ha ha ha.
