Game Informer's Atrocity has greatly angered me, and I feel a definate, ULTIMATE list needs to be compiled, and I feel the best way to do this, is to create it using the game braintrust I have here to create and deliborate an ultimate list. So create for me some lists that I can work with, as many games as you can.
In your deliborations, take in to consideration these factors: Story, Characters, Music and Soundtrack, Gameplay, Controls, Visual artistry, Scene setting and Immersion, and Creativity and Innovation. Other factors may influence your decision, but leave sales and popularity out of it, both are irrelevent to the quality of a game.
Also, consider every game seperately, so that means if it's part of a series, list each game from it seperately, give each game it's own fair credit. It makes things more difficult, but makes the list much more absolute.
So, give me your best. I'm continually working on my own based on your selections, as it gives me games that I haven't played that can be added to the definative list

A lot of good ones in there, it's just arranging them is the issue. And yes, I do intend to eventually get a good 200 just to stick it to those fanboy bastards.
I'll just start listing them out of order like you did so we have some good selections to arrange, noting that I'm even listing selections I haven't played yet but intend to play someday at least, or games I know are good dispite not playing them

Yeah, I've heard a lot myself as well, it seems interesting, although it seems to try too hard to be different, at least thats how it looks to me, like a lot of RPGs in the PS2 period, post FFX

A solid RPG, through and through. PS2 was the king of RPGs, everyone knew that. But Namco had the idea that, "hey, since their are very few RPGs on the Gamecube, if we make a good one, then it'll sell easy." So yeah, they made a fun RPG with good voice acting, characters that are only mildly annoying some of the time, and a battle system that doesn't get old (especially since the AI is relatively smart compared to other games. Plus, you can also have 4 player co-op in battles, which is really fun for teamwork). Tales of Vesperia is kinda like an evolution of Tales of Symphonia. Though you probably need to play ToV to get this, I always find this hilarious: img.photobucket.com/albums/v466/Jeff_highwind/1221605875102.pngNeedless to say, getting a 200+ combo on a boss while dropping the game's frame-rate to 3 frames per second if quite fun. I can't wait to get a PS3 and replay through the game again. But dang, I think I've re-played Tales of Symphonia at least 20 times. New Game+ stuff is great~ |

Damn, Co op? Awesome! That actually sounds good. I might have to try it, Gamecube games are cheap and all. I'll do my research.
Also, Maybe DMC, I dunno, I just played a demo for DMC 4, way late, but still, it looks OKish, just that new guy is annoying. The controls are pretty solid though from what I played
