The shimasen, the backing track, the drums, the bass, everything is so cool in the song!

I think you could put the song in a Silent Hill game and it wouldn't be that out of place

I guess so, I just can't listen to it a lot because it's too depressing
Well not really, only Akira Yamaoka music works in Silent Hill

It's just that the bass and weird pacing of the notes reminds me of Yamaoka's work.

Nomura on TWEWY in an article
"Nomura said that when it comes to The World Ends With You, its following is very big overseas. He goes on to state that many people, especially overseas request that a sequel be made. Nomura adds that this is no easy task, but the possibility of a new entry isn’t completely ruled out. He wants to ensure that he will have the staff and team needed to deliver an product equal to the original game."
You can't sequel tease and then leave people hangin'

Heh, oh yes he can
That wonder is what he will feed off of
I mean really, you don't want him to start that project until after KHIII is out
I'm interested in knowing how he would do a sequel. Would he go to console or would he go to 3DS?
Because he seems like one of the few people who actually used the DS hardware in a meaningful and interesting way, and trying to adapt it to other platforms seems to have been detrimental to the game because of it

TWEWY actually had a good jumping off point for a sequel, but to explain why would involve spoilers.
The handheld market being weaker in the West compared to most of the fans being in the West is the main reason we haven't gotten a sequel. The solution to this is to make a console game but that would mean probably just giving TWEWY a battle system related to Kingdom Hearts...

And thats the conundrum, because TWEWY actually benefits from unique mechanics. Though, I feel like they could adapt the partner system for a single screen. All they would need to do is find a new way to adapt the battle system to the PS4 controller. I mean, they still have touch, and they still have basically rhe same buttons to work with, so perhaps they could find a way to adapt it
The main condition for it's success would be the game would have to remain 2D, the art style doesn't work otherwise

Well I mean that was for Kingdom Hearts, for a cameo appearence it's OK, but for an actual TWEWY game, it would have to be 2D. The Grafetti style just works better in 2D.

My question is, can they make a soundtrack that tops it's predecessor? I feel like maybe not

Making a 3D TWEWY game would be awful. The entire aesthetic worked so well because it was in 2D.

I mean, there wouldn't be anything stopping them from making a 2D console game, but the battle system would be lost. Like I said, I don't think all of it would have to be lost I feel like they could adapt the 2 screen character switching mechanic to 1 screen, since they have way more screen real estate to work with in 1080p. They could have both characters on screen together, just switching back and forth, and just use the PS4 touch pad for all the touch elements like the spells. Of course, the touchpad elements like the movement will have to be moved to a more traditional control style, not much is lost there. Overall, I think the core flow of the game could be preserved, even if it needs to be slightly modified for a single screen system.

Media Molicule. Did they go into hiding after last year's weird ass presentation?

TWEWY on ipad was just one screen, but being a touchscreen it didn't take much to adapt it. They could replace the touch inputs with button combos or jave each face button be a pin and have the partner use the d-pad.
I'll see if they released a trailer post-conference.

How did the face buttons work in the DS version?
I feel like they would have been main stage if they had something real

The d-pad and the face buttons did the same thing, which one you used depended on if you were left handed or not. Also, hahaha Dunky's videos are always on point. youtu.be/z3RKj9-X8dgEA exists in a separate universe.

Well in that case, I see no reason to take that away when you can just do spells with one hand on the touchpad, and do whatever the Dpad/face buttons do with the other hand
So I watched it.....I didn't get it...

He was making fun of the conferences. Like how EA was hyped over THE CELEBRITY SNOOP DOG OH SHIT WADDUP (are we cool yet?) was demoing Battlefield, or how Ubisoft treats its audience like it was on stage for middle schoolers, so it's edgy to swear.

Not to mention all the dancing colorful mascots. Those are for the 6th graders.
I think what made me cringe most about that was how obvious it was that she was reading that off a teleprompter, like it couldn't possible have sounded less organic.
All I really saw that video as was showing me stuff I tried my best to miss intentionally. I didn't want to see any of that stuff. All I care about is the Sony conference because thats the only conference where anything actually happens.
