www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzSaKEsRlhwThe storm is comin, and this is the official coverage I just hit 7 different stores since 10am looking for D Cell batteries, and didn't find them until the 7th store. I also got a fresh new Firesteel, stormproof matches, and a bucket among many other things, we are ready here. I haven't check the weather in a while, I was just out getting firewood just incase I need to build a fire to cook, ha ha ha. But yeah, they are already closing roads in Jersey, and suspending Septa and tolls on roads, it's crazy. I'll stay connected for as long as humanly possible to bring updates and such.

Oh, nice! Does that mean they are all canceled or are they pushed back?
I wonder if Montco will be closed? Probably, but they won't post anything about it until like, 11 AM like they did during Irene. I got there and the sign just said closed and there were a bunch of cars just turning around, of those who could make it, it seems like the route I usually take isn't very flood prone.

I wouldn't know how to prepare for a storm. I'd be like... close all the windows and doors and stock up on canned food and that's it.
It's not like a duststorm that goes away after a while which at worst blows over a trailer or knocks trees down on powerlines or parked cars. And leaves a bunch of dust everywhere and makes the sky orange.

Well, 19 hurricanes have hit Arizona since you were born, ha ha ha ha. It's not much different than that, since all the windows are already closed since it's almost november, ha ha ha. Other than that, you get canned food and bottled water, get buckets of water ready to manually run septic and do other things that require the electric water pump, batteries for your flashlights, candles, and get stuff out of the yard that can become flying death shapenel. And park your car away from trees. Oh yeah, and get coolers full of ice for all food that you wanna use after the power goes out, because you can't open the freezer. I got firewood because that might be how we need to cook.
Mom's panicing, she thinks this will last until friday, ha ha ha. The storm is gonna be over by tuesday night, wednesday morning at the latest, it's just the cleanup will take another day. So I'm guessing I might have a 1 day week in school this week, hah a ha.

The rain is officially falling. No winds though yet.
So latest estimates are still saying Monday is the big day, but the winds won't die down until wednesday morning. Depending on the track now though N&W of the city might get less rain, which would be nice.
Pretty much all trains on most of the eastern seaboard are shut down, all local public transport will be down at midnight, all westbound roads in NJ are closed, all eastbound traffic is toll free, shelters are opening now, it's gonna be a biggin.

We get like the very edge of hurricanes, it's not the same xD It's like how we can feel earthquakes on the California fault sometimes but it doesn't actually DO anything. hahaha

I just hope that doesn't happen :niggasad: The last thing I need to do is have to tolerate my selselessly paniced mom when I know there won't be cell or police service for a few hours.

OK, so heres the latest. The newest advisory just came out about 5 minutes ago. According to it, the storm STILL ISN"T EVEN TECHNICALLY HERE YET! It is also strengthening, the winds are up to 90 mph. The state of Deleware is completely shut down, no one is allowed on the roads except emergency personel. And they are saying they won't be rescuing people for a while, it's just too dangerous, so anyone who ignored the manditory evac orders are on their own for the most part. Montco will now be closed tuesday as well according to my Game Design teacher. Washington DC is taking a beating apparently, might see snow tonight.
The news is like, crazy right now, they have the SPORTS reporter as the head anchor! All the other reporters are like, second stringers so to speak. It's pretty much all hands on deck at NBC, even the people who do the little puff reporting pieces are out in the field. It's pretty wild.
ish is gettin crazy, and the storm is still over 200 miles offshore.

Where are you reletive to them? And are you alone or do you have roommates? I just wanted to see if you had the stuff to deal with this

its actually me and my mom living here now. it's in drexel hill, maybe 5ish miles from the border of west philly, possibly less actually. we're at a higher elevation than philly. we have a gas stove so that's nice if the electric goes out.
no one seems to be making that big a deal out of it, like leaving or boarding up houses or anything.

I guess a place with the name hill in it should be at reletively high elevation, ha ha. And good, are your water pumps non-electric as well? If not you should prepare a few buckets of water to manually flush the toilets if it becomes nessesary. A gas stove is good, but do you have food that won't go bad, canned food and such? Then again, bein a po nigga, you probably already live off ramen and canned food anyway, so that should be no big deal. other than that, as long as you've got candles and/or flashlights, you should be aight.
Maybe thats why no one is freaking out, they are used to living with their power turned off and eating non-perishable church food and ghetto puffs

Really? Ehh, I guess Drexel is a pretty nice school and all, so that makes sense. I've been looking at their game design program lately, though I don't know if I could ever get in
Either way, you can take the po nigga out the po house, but you can't take the po house out the po nigga, you know how to live that way regardless if you in the hood or not.
