Also, remember those crazy thunderstorms you got last night?
When you get back from 5 Guys, you can call in and listen to the rain again, because I think they took a trip to my house
Did you get hail and cloud-to-ground lightning with yours? We're getting that. And apparently winds in excess of 60 mph, ha ha

We had the high winds, but we got partial fog because the ground was hot.

Well it cleared out pretty quick here, but now it's 88% humidity....
You know what I forgot that sucks about not having a car?
Not being able to go grocery shopping.....

My physics professor decided to post my final exam grade on Blackboard days later.
I absolutely ROCKED that exam! 78%
Like, still pretty garbage if it were any other class, but for this class, that is my best exam score by a long shot. I think the final was weighted heavier too, so thats what got me through

Whoa, that was cool. Somehow I get the impression that wrestling isn't entertaining that like these days. Nice to see an actual clip of wrestling without a twitter handle the screen.
When I get to it...

Yeah, that was a time when wrestlers had charisma and gasp, dare I say, dynamic characters!
Yeah, I guess you can show me those materials skills on the Energy Coil

Holy.....shit...
I instantly love that universe. It looks almost EXACTLY like the kind of world I want to make in my game.
And the characters have such personality to me for some reason, I really like it. Like, if that were to become a series, I would go out of my way to watch it, even though it would probably end up infuriating me because I'd feel so ridiculously brainhacked. And I just love that music!
Definately do that.
Shorts are what you start with, you make series' from shorts. That basic short you make is what you use to pitch your idea to a production company to pay you to make your idea. Like, if the people who made that short took that and pitched that to a company for production, they could get a series. And I REALLY SUPER hope they do that! If you look for it, theres a reel just like this for Batman TAS, that they used as the prototype for Warner Bros before production started on the real show. Parts of it were later reworked to become the shows opening title sequence.
You start with small steps. It's like they say in the first game class, you aren't gonna make your million dollar idea in this class, save that until you can execute it. Hell, even The Rat Boy isn't my million dollar idea, and it was my graduation project, and I'm still working on it in alpha release
The difference between shorts you make in college and making a full series is just time. They don't teach you how to make a shorts vs how to make a series. They teach you how to animate, AND how to write, AND how to do other things you might need to know to animate, like basic sound or something, I have no idea, your mileage may vary, not sure what a good animation degree looks like, thats just my guess at what you would need.
The point is they just give you pieces. From that, you derive your abilities and put them together. Part of going to college is learning how to learn, and doing some work on your own to make those connections. They give you the tools, you figure out how to use those tools.

If I wasn't told that Miyazaki didn't make that short, I wouldn't have even known. This is why it pains me that all the big name animation studios in America have moved to CG animation because I find 2D animation much more beautiful and expressive. I could easily see this short as a full, silent movie. Just use music and sound effects and tell the story through the emotions of the characters.
Europe has been picking up the slack on 2D animation lately. I've been meaning to watch Song of the Sea.

The music was great in this. I found this from Facebook and I clicked on it, but I thought about how it was cool that I'm finally hearing about animators not from Japan.

Uggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggh!!!!!!!
Unity just crashed and I lost ALL the work I did today.....and this wasn't trival work either, this was a pretty tedious part of designing the next area of the game...lots of very intricate stacks of boxes which are SUPER annoying to make. We're talking AT LEAST 12 solid hours of work, gone...
I;m pretty mad needless to say...

Skype will come later, I think I'm not getting my degree because I didn't take a stupid elective course and no one told me. Ughhh I need to go to the school to get this sorted out, what the hell.

Whaaaaaaaat?!
Yeah, you should have got it by now, there must be a problem
Also, no one is going to tell you, you have to figure it out yourself. You have to realize that the college has no insentive to have you graduate, if you stay there taking classes forever, they keep making their money either way.
I pretty much knew I was set to graduate last semester, and I still went and checked in with my enrollment counceler just in case, and he was the one who told me that, ha ha ha. They don't even hide it from you, so they don't care, you have to make sure you graduate.
Can't you just do a course evaluation online to figure out what classes you still need? And you didn't get an email about this when you put in your application for graduation?

Because technically I was able to walk with the certification, but not the associate's degree. -_-
When I checked at the college, they assured me that my NAU credits would count towards my electives. They didn't.

whaaaaaaaaaaat?!
Thats stupid. Get on them about it. Raise hell until it works, speak to someone else until you get someone who gives you the truth, then figure out who told you you could, and make sure they get fired.
So what classes do you need to finish for your degree if these bastards scam you?
