Ha ha ha ha ha, yeaaaaaah. I only use my mic when I play with someone I know, so 98% of the time you, ha ha ha ha, since no one else plays with me anymore.
Really!? Interesting. I didn't think the protocols internet wise were the same between games, since the controls are different in the sense that it's mouse vs controller and stuff. Interesting though, yeah, I think I heard something like that too, thats why I was so confused I guess. Is Steam run by Valve? I mean in theroy that makes sense, but in the sense of the companies, are they related? And wow, thats amazing!

Hahaha. Awww, we should both get more PSN friends and play together.
Well, I think what's going to happen is that Sony will allow for a separate server "Steamworks" to be available on the PS3 for those looking just to connect to Steam; that, or Sony will update PSN to work with Steam in the background. Yes, Steam is owned and operated by Valve and is the only way to get their games for the PC, but developers from all over the gaming industry have their games on Steam. So even low-selling games like Psychonaughts can still make a beam of light into the gaming community. Though I will admit that there are just some games I can't see myself playing with a keyboard, like the Assassin's Creed series.
Essentially what Valve wants to achieve is for people to play games even though they may lack some of the good hardware needed, and Valve also supplies most games with update patches as soon as the developers give out the patches. Valve also has some great deals sometimes, like how I got Portal completely free and the Christmas deals last December had some games priced below the 10 dollar mark. The only criticism I've seen of Steam is that some people believe it's going to become a monopoly since Valve has paid for exclusive PC rights for some developers, but I digress.

ha ha ha ha, I have a very exclusive friends list. That one time we did that 4 person Chest Capture with my neighbors, that was my entire friends list except 1 person. I just like keeping my friends list small and semi elite. one or two person parties is just how I roll.
The latter sounds the most viable. It'll probably work like Netflix, you'll have to download it from PSN and run it like that or something. Riiiight, So it's like some sort of game Netflix or something, although that would probably be more like gamefly, or something, I dunno. Either way, sounds interesting, but I doubt they have any games I would play. And certainly nothing I could play on the computer, hardware and controllerlessness wise.
Exclusive rights? That does sound like a little bit of an underhanded tactic. I mean if it's a smaller developer, thats an easy way to stifle the competition, I mean what motive would a game developer have to screw over other game developers? It seems like an obvious mistake to sign into something like that.

Yeah, I actually deleted a guy from my Friends List because I didn't know why he was there. All I did know was that he hadn't signed in for over 40 days so I had no use for him anyway. Hahaha I think I met him on LBP.
Well, most games I think won't work on the PS3, just the site. And if anything at least Steam's free, making Microsoft fall even lower on the online ladder of quality.
I think they are only temporary, but it's similar to how Sony and Microsoft have their own exclusive developers. But companies like Blizzard and Bioware can still release their games both outside and inside Steam so it's not like Steam is a demanding force, just a convenient collection of every game you could think of. Minus some like Team ICO games and Okami and stuff like that. I mean, the ONLY reason that Square Enix gave Microsoft FFXIII was because Microsoft was begging and pleading and Square Enix gave them a copy to shut them up. But then all those people working on the port could not work on the original game and so I think the game as a whole was affected negatively. Sometimes knowing exactly what hardware you're going to be using helps speed up and increase quality of production.

Oh wow... Ha ha h ha ha ha. I never add people that I don't know in some other way. Either from on here or in real life. Your actually the only person on my friends list that I haven't met face to face yet.
I don't see why they wouldn't, I'd imagine the program would work exactly the same as the PC version, just on PS3, minus the running in the background feature. And indeed indeed.
Well yeah, but still "Your only allowed to sell your games through us for this period of time, and on yeah, forgot to mention, we're having a huge sale, so we'll be selling your game for $10, when at a brick and mortar store you could be selling it for $60, oh and also of that $10, we get a cut. Thanks a lot, game company we're competing against" I'm sure bigger companies that would outsell valve either way will be able to, but it's the smaller up and comers that are probably getting nipped in the bud. And yeah, I saw that. They made it look like it would be a good idea to sell cross platform based on how the numbers were fixed at the time, then when the game was on the shelves, the commercials said Xbox, but the cases said PS3. I'm fairly certain PS3 copies outsold Xbox copies 2 to 1 or better. And exactly, and any game thats cross platform these days seems to suffer, because it has to use last gen technology to conform to Xbox, so any developer using tools that work on especially for PS3's infastructure have to downgrade to older stuff and the game ends up not looking as good on PS3 for that reason, since they just port the easier to make and weaker Xbox version. I mean look at cross platform games on PS3 vs PS3 exclusives now a days. I mean Assassin's Creed looks good and all, but compare it to Heavy Rain or Uncharted's graphical and technical capabilities. I think if Assassin's Creed was an exclusive title, it would be a dramatically better game, both with look and I bet the parkour system would work hundreds of times better.

They never sell new games under the retail price. It's the older or non-retail games that typically have the sales. Though Portal 2 is 10% off if you pre-order it, but it's a Valve game so they can do that.
There are times when the 360's hardware bothers me. Because my brother will occasionally buy a game for the 360 that I already had on the PS3, and sometimes the 360 game looks better... I don't know if it was because the developers worked longer on the 360 version or what, but there seems to be a 20% that games actually look better on the 360 rather than the PS3. Though to be fair, it's easier to make a 360 game because the hardware is easier to make for.
But it seems like the PS3 has faster framerate and more disk space, when the 360 version may look more polished in some areas. That's just an observation of mine.

Oh riiiiiiiiight, I guess that makes sense. Still, is steam really big enough that it would be worth it to be signed exclusively to them?
It doesn't look better, it looks different, I've seen what you mean, but with a trained eye you'll notice it's just all frills and flashyness trying to hide the fact that the texturing and such is inferior. The main thing I've noticed is they seem to try to use more dynamic lighting to hide the primitive PS2 style texturing. In addition, I'm not sure if this is true or if my eyes are just playing tricks on me, but it looks like they try to use different fonts or something, because I noticed between the PS3 and Xbox versions of AC II, the font looks different to me. And yeah, I think the main thing your noticing is that PC esque look, I can't discribe it, but PC style game have that look to them, I think you know what I mean, but I dunno. I don't think it looks better, it just looks different to your eye. Personally I think it looks cheesy, especially when you see through some of the tricks they use, like I remember seeing the Xbox vs PS3 versions of Mirror's Edge and noticing that the PS3 version just had more impressive texturing once you got close to things. Another thing I notice is that stuff looks more rounded on Xbox, like they use less polygons or something, I saw A GT5 vs Forza Motorsports comparison, and noticed the cars seem to look more....almost cartoony I guess in Forza, like they just don't have that same realism in shape to the Gran Turismo counterparts. I think that again might be a texturing thing too, because the paint looks fake on the Forza cars, it just doesn't reflect the right way.
Plus when both systems are running at their peak, you really start to notice the differences. We know Heavy Rain looks photorealistc, I just haven't seen a game on Xbox that can emulate that same effect. Those advantages PS3 has are far greater, since they lead to a far greater endgame, since Xbox is at it's limit, while PS3 has yet to even test it's limits. The only problem is, in these economic conditions, no one is willing to test those limits and would prefer to sell an easy mil on something less risky and cross platform.

But then, I'm cool with what I got. It's still an update from a dingy bluetooth.

Yeah, it just looks so....like....AWESOME. Like super futuristic. And super powerful and amazing. And it is that amazing, the hookup is ridiculous and it does all this insane stuff.
Yeah, anything would be an upgrade from the tiny awful thing I use. I think my friend literally found it somewhere in someone's car and just gave it to me because he had no other use for it and his is dramatically better.

Why would a bluetooth be in a car?

I have no clue. Ha ha ha h ah ha Apparently it was either under the seat, or in the cracks of the seat. I'm hoping for the former....
I just remember him just randomly saying I found a bluetooth, do you want it? And I was like Ehh, whateva, saves me $20. It sucks bad, but it's something I guess. I definately wish I had that huge headset though, I love giant DJ style headphones like that.

Ha ha ha ha h ha, yeah, secret government agents just abandon them in peoples older model cars.
Yeah, now that I think about it, I think my brother got his off someone else as well. I actually can't think of anyone I know who has paid for one, because my friend who gave me my bluetooth, also got his real bluetooth from his stepdad who got his from someone at his job or something.

Hahaha, oh man, how did we not notice this strange phenomenon before? Bluetooths are some kind of paranormal technology that finds its way into people's houses to steal their hearing or something while creating unneeded pain and frustration. Sounds plausible.

Yeah really! Bluetooths are odd things, aren't they? It's ALIEN Technology! It's their secret method of listening to us and also hurting our ears! It's a menacing plan! Those tiny voices you hear in the earpiece are little green men!!1
I could beileve it.

Woah, awesome. So will you be able to play other Steam games on PS3? It kinda sounds like Uplay though
And I check that site on occation for trophy help, you actually post there?

Also, who would someone buy the PS3 version, steal the free version of the PC version, then return it? Wouldn't they still be out the $60 it costs to buy the PS3 version? Sounds ridiculous.

Value might make future games work on it, but so far I think only Portal 2 will work.
Yeah, occasionally. I get some of my news from that forum, like PSN store updates and stuff.
Well, I would assume the only people who would do that are people who don't have a PS3. Yeah, they won't get their full $60 back, but odds are they'll get back at least half of their money back so it's like buying the game at half price on launch day. But at least Valve realizes that it may happen and aren't fretting over it. They know that most of their fans will still buy it legitly. I am~ I just love this two-game-for-the-price-of-one deal.

Yeah, same as Uplay was when ACII was the only game that worked on it, Hah a ha. Hopefully they do utilize it in some effective way, like maybe a partnership in the PS Store, for games that are on Steam being sold on PSN or something.
Yeah, I just check PSN for Store updates, ha ha ha, but yeah, I just read about trophy stuff, like if there are hidden trophies that I just can't figure out, or when curiocity gets the best of me, Ha ha ha, or if I'm really having trouble getting one and need to see good stratagies for how to do it, like mainly in GT5 for that though. But god, those people have INSANE amounts of trophies! You've got to be kidding me
It seems like a lot of trouble to go through, why not just be legitimate or wait like, a few months. Besides, it sounds like no one will really do that, at this point it seems like there are enough people with PS3s who just want to have a copy to play on steam if they want. Besides, it will probably look way better on PS3. '
Because they have this steam access on PS3, can people on PC play co op with PS3 players? Also, can you access your save file between both versions? I'm interested in how this will work.

You're really the only person I talk to about video games, so it's nice to go that forum to see differing opinions. And yes, for some people it's their new way to show how much of a gamer they are, but to each their own. If a user is caught cheating for their trophies--like automatically unlocking them all at once--then they are banned from the site and taken off the leaderboards.
Who knows. And maybe, though my computer's hardware is pretty good and typically computers do have better graphics cards.
Yes, the co-op will connect the two platforms, if you choose to. And I THINK you can carry over saves, and even trophies.

Yeah, I try to talk to other people, but your the only person who isn't immediately dwarfed by my knowledge, your honestly the only person I know whose as smart as me, probably smarter even, Ha hah a. It seems kinda lame to cheapen games by just playing them by buying them just for the trophies. And wow.......thats facinating
Better than PS3? I thought that was the super computer and all that, I just remember the PS3 intro looked sooo good.
Wow. Thats pretty amazing. I love the technology involved in that idea. That could lead to interesting future stuff.
