Well I guess, although having most of the ministers and generals against their wills would be an issue, since they could go behind his back and stuff, or work in secret with Yi Ui-min or something. And I didn't think confucianism really was an issue yet, besides, I thought they mentioned that Kyung Dae Seung was a buddist at some point, like when him and Duduel were talking. As for Huh Seung, he seemed slightly ambitious, like the people were a factor, but the power was more important to him.

And Huh Seung just didn't have the natural leadership skills Kyung Dae Seung has, he spent almost all of his time as a yes man to someone else, even if he was just using them as a means to an end, he never really had some of the qualities Kyung Dae seung has that would make him an amazing emperor.
And yeah, that is always amazing.
AND OH YEAH, that new guy from the military Kyung Dae Seung said that about, That was Huang Hee from Sejong!

all of eastern civilization was greatly influenced by confucianism, which STRONGLY stressed loyalty to the monarch. its why loyalty to the king no matter how much of an idiot he is is always considered a heroic trait among most face characters in korean dramas, it was just a cultural value of the upper class.
huh seung was ambitious but there's nothing wrong with that really. he was still dedicated to the people. sure he wanted power for himself, but as long as he was still dedicated to helping the people who cares.
and of course no one is as good as kyung dae-seung. its just too bad he's a pussy about overthrowing the king.

When did confucious live anyway that he could have such a huge impact?
Either way, it is good to be loyal to the king, it's just that in Kyung Dae Seung and Du Kyung Seung's cases, they are too loyal, although that is their job to be loyal asthey are paid to do what their king tells them, and most of the problem isn't really the king as much as it is the incompetent royal court's, but all at once the king's weakness is what keeps them in office, so in the end they think they are doing the right thing...

...but in reality are contributing to the problem by staying loyal and doing what would be the right thing. Kyung Dae Seung isn't so much as he's more loyal to a fault, weither it be to his king or to his subordinates, which fucks him over in the end, making him weak.
Well that would be true about huh seung, assuming his purpose wasn't corrupted like Yi Ui Bang, and he seemed the type who would be seduced to that point by such power.
And yeah, I forgot how awesome he was. Ahh Sejong...

The cool thing about his death was that it wasn't unexpected, but still really sad with how they built it up with the cool dream sequences, which were awesome.
It just pisses me off that they cut it short! No respect for the great chongoon.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMNNN that was a great episode. the empress dowager freaking out was amazing. and the death of dobang was really sad also, when duduel and kyung dae-seung's spirit were talking, not only was it an awesome scene, but when they were talking about the grim future of koyro, and nomad invasions, they were talking about the mongols.

Yeah, she done flew off the handle it was awesome.
Yeah, it was, it was an awesome honorable death fight for them though
Oh yeah! I forgot that was the era of Ghengis Khan. So Chosun is what comes after Mongol rule? It's awesome they made reference to that though, and that scene in general was amazing, along with the badass narrator's discription of his life and how awesome he was.
Yi Ui Min's reaction to Kyung Dae-seung's death was good too.

I love how funny Yi Ui Min found the fact that General Choi or whatever his name is is now in control of the government, and how everyone laughs in his face like the joke he is.

Yeah. WHUUDAH!?!? I need to find his name again
Indeed. She done held down the bidness
I just remember that one scene where like, before Chung Jung Bu was executed, where she goes to visit him, and like, they chat like friends instead of political enemies, she set him up to be killed, and she still respected him for all the years they knew each other, it was just awesome.

also that episode was weird and didnt make sense. the emperor brought ui-min back to help strengthen the imperial command, but it continued to fall as usual through the time shift with absolutely no reference to ui-min's role or the emperor trying to use him, which is why he was brought back, etc. and since the emperor brought ui-min back to protect the imperial house, why would he go commission this history that could destroy him.

I think the whole point of all that is he is a shitty emperor. It was the Empress Dowagner's idea to bring Yi Ui Min back, and she died before she could make him do anything really effective, so he's lost without a plan. He's just doing whatever anyone tells him, because he sucks. He doesn't know what to do, so he does that because he's stupid and desperate.
And yeah, Lee Deok Hwa is indeed the shit. The Shit and the urine
