Like just now I found out Primal Rage was also release on PS1, as one of the first games made for it, it's just insane to see the cartradge era and disk era blend like that.
Also, I heard something today thats kinda disturbing that makes me die a little inside. Guess who does the production of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 in Japan?
Square Enix
...
It's just sad, but morbidly interesting all at once. The game world is a strange and facinating place

I did not know there was a lot of digimon games the U.S. did not get.
Dragon valor a unheard of game (is badass) is surprisingly popular.
Some ideas of FFVll are actually in Chrono Trigger.

Woah, didn't hear about that last one
I figured the first part, although I know nothing about digimon, and I've never heard of dragon valor
But all the crazy stuff and conspiricies around some development aspects of FFVII are crazy, like certain stuff left in the game code that never gets used, and all the wild reviving Aeris theroies out there, some sound legit, while others are ridiculous. Theres just so much it's facinating, like the Letter to Wife and Letter to Daughter Key Items that still exist in the code but never get used, and a couple materia that you can never get and serve no purpose whatsoever because they were axed for the final version of the game but never removed. There were a few other crazy things I read, like how the reason the original release date of the game was pushed back because allegedly they couldn't figure out a certain effect they wanted for a scene they wanted for Aeris in the church after her death as part of one of the revival senerios, sounds like some bullshit though. I read something else, but I forget what it was now
What stuff from Chrono Trigger is from FFVII

Shadow of the Colossus was originally going to feature multiple characters on horseback, but the PS2 couldn't take all that data processing. Btw, there are fish and eels in SotC and you can "ride" them. And Dormin spelled backwards is "Nimrod." The triforce in the the Legend of Zelda series did not start out in it's three triangle form, as the triforce of courage wasn't added until The Adventure of Link. Triforce meant that they were triangles of power, not three triangles of power. Or, technically, they were triangles of Power, Wisdom, and Courage. Pokemon gain higher stats if you level them up normally, rather than use rare candies. The PlayStation 2 was the first system to have graphics capability better than that of the leading-edge personal computer at the time of its release. The Nintendo GameCube's proprietary disc can hold 1.5 gigabytes of data -- 190 times more than what an N64 game cartridge can hold.

Pichubro did you know that Lloyd's main twin sword weapon in the game can combine in combat sometimes by rising falcon. Rising phoenix can be used by equip with a certain item.
Tales of Phantasia has the original plus 2 good remakes in Jap while we only get a crappy port for the GBA. Tales of Phantasia was one of the few games to push the SNES to it's limits including voice.

Damn, that would have been nuits! Also, Fish? How?
Yeah, I figured that one, I figured they just worked that in later
Yeah, knew that one, I think they mention that in the game itself somewhere
Nice! PS2 rules.
Damn! That means GC disks are about the same size as UMD disks, well in the middle anyway, Single layer UMDs are 1 GB, Duel layer are 2 GB.

There are scattered pools of water on the land Mario. In some of them, there are fish that you can grab. This is what one can discover with too much time on their hands.

Ha ha ha ha, nice. It would have been nice to figure that out when I was facing that damn giant sea serpent or that bird over the water where I had to swim for eternity

All PS3 games are region-free. However, any DLC for the games is not. Oh Sony. When the PS3 Slim was released, it sold so much that it passed the Wii.

Ha ha ha, yeah, I found that, since the Heavy Rain T shirt for Playstation Home was Pal Region only. I'd think it would have something to do with either the firmware or the regional Playstation Store, I'm not sure
Yep, over a million units in 3 weeks, it was nuts, and the sales are still pretty insane, it looks like they may pass the overall sales numbers for Xbox soon at the current rate. The price drop helped, and the big Exclusives they scored this year. I made a post about this like half a year ago and called it. Sony had huge exclusives coming this year while Xbox has nothing new and Wii has a couple things, but Sonys going overdrive right now, FAG(Mag), GT 5, Heavy Rain, God of War III, The Last Guardian, and I think there were a few more, but I can't remember now. The year of the PS3 has begun

Ha My brother got MAG for his birthday yesterday.
I'm glad about the region-free thing because I really want to play Tales of Vesperia, yet I don't know if it'll be localized. If it isn't... Then Namco is retarded and would lose a lot of money, but I would eventually buy the Japanese version if it never came over.

Ha ha hah a ha hh a, hilarious. I love the fact that that game takes advantage of the PS3's unique capability to link processors and create an online cluster effect like that of a supercomputer. It's a shame they don't use it on something like some sort of insane MMO or hell, even a crazy ass MMO style GTA or something, anything but yet another FPS
Yeah, that is awesome, I love playing Japanese demos on my PSP, I played some Japanese fighting game that was pretty awesome, it was a bleach game too and as awful as the anime is, the game was decent, and Japanese Echochrome is in english, it's funny. Everything in the XMB is Japanese, but the in game dialogue is english. Lack of region is incredible. And if The Last Guardian has more features in any particular regional release, just buy the best version. It is a nice thing

Yeah, I dunno either. Hahahaha. But I'll let it slide since it's a PS3 exclusive. The only problem I have with getting Vesperia in Japanese... Is that I loved the English voices so much. Well hopefully this time they won't butcher Ueda's game just to get it on the holiday market... That being said, there's a lot of games coming out in March...

Yeah, march is gonna be insane
I don't see why It would be a Japan exclusive, I think at this point it's rare to see too many region exclusives anymore, it's hard to picture these days
I really hope I have a PS3 by march, March is gonna be insane

Namco hates money, that's why. Out of the dozen or so Tales games, only about half have made it to America. Those that did, weren't re-releases like PS3 Vesperia. Compare that to the FF series where all the games have eventually come overseas, even watered down remakes. I can guarantee that Tales fans feel just as strongly about their games, yet they have to put up with Namco's retardation... Though they usually announce Tales news between Feb-April, so if there is no news by May, I'll give up on my hope. Though they may say something at E3, I highly doubt it. And stupid laid off people doesn't help matters: gamervision.com/users/coop/articles/layoffs_hitting_namco_bandai_

That is madly madly gay
Namco is a weird company. They made pac man
I think theres a chance it could happen, I mean if the fans are crazy enough about it, it'll happen
Then again, thats what I thought about Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix
I dunno, maybe they just hate americans

Yeah, and they don't even doing that too good, the comercial looked cool but the game was meh. Visually nice, but otherwise not impressive in the actual gameplay department

Keeping the thread going... But you probably know the first one, Mario. ~ Final Fantasy VII was originally designed for the Nintendo 64, but Square canceled the project and moved to the PS1 because of the lack of space in the console's game cartridges. FFVII would've filled 13 cartridges. ~ It's only humanly possible to press a button on a controller 16 times per second. ~ There’s a difference between the Japanese and US versions of Resident Evil 4. It occurs whenever Leon is killed by Mr Chainsaw. In the US version, his head is chopped off by the ‘saw. However, in the Japanese version, it cuts off part of Leon's face, exposing half of the front of Leon's skull and a single eyeball. ~ In the NES era, Nintendo had strict licensing rules in an effort to maintain quality control (hence the gold Nintendo seal of quality badges on the cartridges). They only allowed third-party publishers to release 5 games a year for their systems. Amazing how these seals disappeared as games stopped being produced for quality. ~ The PS1 was originally planned as a Nintendo console, with Sony set to design its electronic components. When Nintendo ditched the project, Sony decided to make a console anyway.

Yeah, I knew part of the first one, I heard they started the project late SNES era, then quickly figured out SNES couldn't handle it, and thought about N64, but they weren't satisfied with the capabilties of that either and decided to release on the brand new Playstation console. Best idea they ever had. I just didn't know just how many cartradges it would have taken, goddamn!
Also, I didn't know about the PS1/Nintendo link, wow. Interesting
And eww. I'm glad it's just good old fashioned decapitation. I wouldn't want to see that other thing, ewww...
16? Hmm, facinating, how did they figure that out?
It's a shame they don't have quality standards like that today, the world would be a better place

They figured out the 16 button per second rule because no one has been able to beat the record that a guy did. So for now, it'll stay as fact until the world finds someone faster.
