I'm really considering buying both of those first two games if I can find them again, I know I can probably find Shadow of the Collosus at the Gamestop I normally go to, not so sure about where I can get ICO, I hear that ones really rare
I'm only about half way through the video, but I love this guys vibe and his passion about this, you can clearly tell the difference between a good and bad game designer when you hear them talk. I heard the guy who developed that assanine Tenacious D game the other night on Jimmy Fallon and I just wanted to punch him in the face. He sounded like a total prick who didn't have the slighest idea what a good game is, just trying to pander to the modern faggot audience just to try to make money not to create something amazing. This guy on the other hand really takes it seriously and really sounds like he knows how to tell a story and really make you feel like your there. I really wish I could watch the rest, but my computer will not allow it. But I definatly will own this game when I own my PS3.

Yes, Ueda's passion and imagination is so great... It makes me sad to think that Hollywood's looking to make a movie adaptation for Shadow of the Colossus. I think the only one capable of bringing any of Ueda's games to the big screen in Miyazaki. Ueda has often said that he has never found any of his games perfect, and that he had run out of time to include everything he wanted in them. Still, he doesn't like ports or changing a finished product. [Edit] It seems like Ueda is involved in the movie's production, so maybe it won't be a bad adaptation after all...
As soon as I buy a PS3, I'm going to store it away until I get The Last Guardian. The first boot-up of any system is a great experience, but I'm going for the extra special route of a Team ICO game. (Nothing can break a spirit of a game console than buying a crappy game first).
I'm wondering if TLG is going to be completely dialogue-free though, since it's about a kid and his monster (Though ICO and SotC also had the buddy system). SotC and ICO got away with a touching storyline and had less than 100 lines of dialogue. Still, the more I hear about TLG, the more excited I get! (and the more frustrated I feel because it hasn't been released yet xP)

Yeah, that would be a weird movie, I just think they just want to ruin everything with a bad movie to go with it. It just doesn't seem like it could be translated into a movie, since he puts so much work into making it into a good game. I love how he scrutinizes on every detail like they show in the video, like how he makes sure the bridge sways just right, or the movement of the animal guy. I agree with his idea with his philosophy about how imagination requires some reality. And I really respect that idea that he doesn't mess with his own finished work. Games are way better that way
You should get the PS3 and The Last Guardian on the same day, so then not only will you have the experience of buying a PS3, Buying the game, and starting up the system with the game in it all on the same day. Can you imagine? Can you just imagine the greatness?
I don't know though, since I saw guards in some of the pictures. I think there might be a little dialogue. Less than 100 lines? Wow, thats crazy, I wanna see that. Yeah, I've been keeping an eye out for information about this game too, I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Hahaha, yes. That actually sounds like a better idea because then the console won't collect dust. I might be stretching it when I said there was less than 100 lines of dialogue, but these games are mostly silent, and there's definitely not a lot of words being spoken (and when they do speak, it is in a fictional language, so the game is not ruined by bad voice overs). Even the background music only turns on at certain points in the game, and all you really hear most of the time are the noises the character(s) make as they move around and/or the sounds of nature such as wind or birds. It creates the perfect atmosphere.

Indeed, and it would be insanely awesome
Yeah, and it's awesome when they set the scene in such a way. It's one thing to have an amazing soundtrack, but it's more important to know when not to have music. Its also good to know how to use amient noise perfectly. I had a much longer better post, but my computer crashed

I have. This is what a lowly Pentium D processer and 512 MB of RAM does. It's pathetic.
Also, I agree, I would also like an ICO/Shadow of the Collosus bundle. I can only imagine what playing all three in order would do to the universe

Hahaha, the universe would probably start rotating around the earth due to the gravity of games. The universe would become Geocentric. xP
I think another aspect that makes Ueda's games so great, is that he doesn't speed up production just for sales. I like to call them "Olympic" games because each one takes an average 4 years to make (meaning that a fourth game will hopefully come out around 2014). True, I would love more games, but I would also hate to have more games if the quality was lowered.

I also hope that the title The LAST Guardian doesn't imply that this is the last game by Team ICO. I would be deeply saddened.

Wow, I couldn't even think of that crazy outcome, it is possible though
Yeah, games that get worked on for really long periods of time by a game designer and still aren't finished when they are released are really really good, just look at Final Fantasy VII, I think that got worked on for like 3 or 4 years and still had a lot of incomplete stuff in it. Quality over Quantity is indeed the best policy. Like the new Final Fantasys that are produced every other year now are not nearly as good as the classics that had a lot more work, Ha ha, Olymic games, I get it, heh heh heh
Nah, that dude would have to be crazy to stop now, his talents are needed in todays game world, it probably is just a story thing.

I really should play FFVII sometime. In other news I played SotC today. Just messing around though. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVxw0PWlj8wI always feel sad when I kill Phalanx. The colossus never attacks, never tries to run away. Phalanx just flies around majestically until I stab him to death. Poor guy.

Yeah, definatly, when you buy your PS3, Buy it off of PSN, it's only like 15 bucks, it'll be the best $15 you ever spend.
Ha ha, Phalanx, that sounds like an erectile disfunction pill or something
But damn, that gameplay looks epic, it looks like Kingdom Hearts meets Twilight Princess, can't wait to get it

Also, it's ironic for you to say that, because Miyamoto has said that he based some of the stuff in Twilight Princess after what he saw in ICO and SotC. I have to say that I can't compaire them though. Even based on the horse factor, the two games are different: Agro feels more like a partner, and she does part in battles and acts like a horse with her stubborn attitude (she is afraid of arrows xP); while Epona is more or less a tool for Link. While you can tell both teams have their relationship, Agro and Wander feel like they have a closer connection to each other. If you hold "X", Agro will keep running at a gallop and usually stay out of harm's way without your control (This is great for when you need to focus your arrows on the target as it chases you). If you tried doing that with Epona, you realize that she is just a faster pair of legs since you must control her every turn.
But I digress, I like both games for different reasons. TP for the nostalgic feel and the storyline; SotC for the evolved connection from the player to the game.

Wow, that's awesome, when Big Shig bases a design off of someone else, you know that person is a genius. That sounds amazing though, the more I hear, the more I want this game
