Here we go, the race down the up escalator comes to it's conclusion (hopefully) today. The single worst election in US history between the two worst candidates to ever besmirch this country with the slime trails they leave in their wake will FINALLY, after many long painstaking months reach it's climax.
On one side, you have the single most wounded, most blatently corrupt, most inept, scandal riddled neolib piece of trash to ever not be liked by Republicans. She makes Al Gore and John Kerry actually look electable. She blatently screwed the guy people actually wanted when it looked like she was gonna lose like she did in 2008, this is not a conspiracy theory, this is fact, revealed by her completely ridiculous email scandal, because it was her year. To her, this isn't about the people, this is about her feeling like she deserves the W. For her, this is about winning, and she will say and do whatever it takes to do it. She defiles the honored position of being America's first female president. And if you can believe it, Hillary Clinton will be playing the role of 'the lesser of two evils' this year. Though, it's not much lesser, at least she seems sane.
On the other side, you have the most disgusting human being to walk the face of the earth. Recently there has been this clown hysteria thing going on that I keep hearing about in the news, and I've finally realized what that was about; the clowns are coming out of hiding because they finally have a presidential candidate that represents them. Over the course of this election, at least once a WEEK a new crime comes out that would have otherwise put anyone else in JAIL, let alone disqualified them from the presidency. Sexual assault, tax evasion, bribary, (ironically) breaking immigration law for his wife, running a scammy for profit college(even by for profit college standards), the list goes on and on. He also has a prepencity to shoot himself in the foot every time he opens his mouth to alienate another voter base. Remember when Mitt Romney basically lost himself the election because of his "1%" comments, and his "binders full of women"? Yeah, straight up quotidian compared to the nonsense Donald Trump spews out every time he goes off the teleprompter or opens his Twitter account. His message is basically the dog whistles the republicans have been blowing to court the uneducated white voter for years cranked up into the audible range, then blasted at about 180 dB in all directions. It's hard to make George W Bush look smart, but somehow, Trump makes him look like a fucking genius. Where Bush had the speech patterns and vocabulary of a Texan, Trump has the speech patterns and vocabulary of a 3th grader. And these traits are what make poor, uneducated white rednecks think he is relatable and will do something for the poor. You know, the guy who is basically the symbol of gluttony and what evil rich people are, an image he made for himself with his fucking reality TV show about it. Yeah, this campaign was probably the first time he even saw a poor person (who wasn't employeed by him to do his landscaping) in real life. And this guy is going to make policies that will benefit the poor? With massive tax cuts for rich people? Yeah. OK. Whatever you say. It's hard to say that your presidency would be good for the economy when most economists think you winning the presidency would be one of the most likely causes of the next recession.
If this were ANY other election, and either one of these candidates was running against ANYONE else, they would have been long since disqualified from the race. And yet, right now it's basically a tie, that is a few points in Democrats favor (which it always seems to be on election day). Especially against a knuckle dragging baffoon like Trump, ANY other democrat would be polling double digits against Trump right now. It would be a legitimate landslide which would make Obama vs Romney look like a close race. Like, the bible belt would be in play.
Neither candidate has a real platform. No politics have been discussed this entire season, it's just been stupid scandal after stupid scandal. And they both picked really shitty running mates, like, I literally cannot tell them apart, and don't remember either of their names.
What I'm hoping happens is Hillary wins by a significant margin and crushes the republican party for good. Then for the next 4 years, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and the rest of the progressives in congress keep her honest and force her to pass actually progressive legislation. Then Bernie Sanders challenges her to another primary in 2020. The republican candidate by then won't be a threat to anyone, so it'll be like the Philadelphia mayoral race, where whoever wins the democratic primary wins the race.
As highly unlikely as that scenario is, it's still better than Trump winning.
The decision in my mind comes down to this

I don't know who will win the election, but I know who will lose: The American people. Either way, The Patriots already won long ago.
We are forced to choose a side and fight.
I'm just hoping to hit the diner for lunch or something at least, have the last Barackfast, to honor his leaving
