Ha ha ha ha, indeed. I'm sure all of those who actually speak spanish love it when you say those things from that game to them, Ha ha ha ha
I heard some thing on the news about it or something, they had some video of this scary ass thing someone had caught on their survalence camera that had these really scary eyes, then heard a story not too long after that, like one of those opener storys like "DID SOMEONE FINALLY CATCH THE CHUPACABRA!?!!?" Then say they have video of it, but I never watched the actual story. And actually, the Jersey devil looks more like a winged Deer/moose/dog/bat thing.
Ha ha ha ha ha, that would be hilarious. I could picture bigfoot just walking into a convenience store and raiding the slurpie machine. But this was some crazy panic I read about, and back then there was no internet or any way for people to communicate effectively enough to give the exact same discription of the same thing that many times within the course of like 72 hours, because they had the most sightings within the area within that first few days, and they were sporatic in location, but not enough that it wasn't totally impossible.

Wow, a video? I'd be too scared to see it...
Yeah, that's true. The only real communication they had back then were newspapers and phones, and though weren't efficient enough for that many sightings to take place. That makes it even creepier...

Oh yeah, it freaked me out, this thing was scary looking, like a big dog, but with some crazy ass eyes, and not Black Shuck eyes either, like big piercing monster eyes.
Oh yeah, and they were all dead on consistant with each other. It really is scary. The thing is harmless though, it never ever harmed anyone in any of those sightings, it just had a piercing scream that it let out whenever it saw someone. It's like a loud screech apparently.
Ahh....thinking about all this stuff is starting to freak me out a little....

There's no reported cases of a Chupacabra hurting or eating a human, but I think anything that has a history of sucking the blood out of goats is too scary. And I live in a supposed habitat of it, ahhh.
Oh well... I find Bigfoot scarier anyway. I've had this fear of apes ever since I watched Planet of the Apes when I was 3.

Well yeah, I think thats what scares people about it, it's vicious towards goats. Although I think the primary purpose of the Chupacabra was to scare spanish children about going outside at night. I wish we had the crazy mythical stuff Europe has, like the Phantom Black Dogs, or the crazy ridiculous stuff Japan has, like the 15 foot tall skeleton who eats human heads, or Bakeneko, the two tailed shapeshifting cat that kills it's master and takes it's form.
I find Bigfoot to be silly. He just has that whole clishe sounding him these days, it's like, you almost expect him to be like that version of him from the messin with Sasquach Beef Jerky commercials or something. But he is less ridiculous of an idea than a flying deer dog bat monster, and there are enough versions of him that it could be plausable, but like, how does something like that hide? Awwwww. I hate that movie, I just found it so weird, and all of them never seem to actually feel like you've achieved anything watching them. I spent a day watching a marathon of those movies, after 4 of them, I dispised the series, because it never felt like progress was made, and I felt like the whole day was wasted. I was mad.

Well, the thing with Bigfoot is the history of it. Native American tribes (mostly Cherokee) have reportedly believed in "Tsul 'Kalu" for generations and long before Europeans came over, and it's also similar to the Yeti, which could indicate that these apes might've been real.
There's an animal called the Thunderbird, which originated in Native American tribes. There's a story of two Arizonan cowboys in the 1800s killing one. According to them, what they saw looked similar to a pterodactyl. The problem is that no one kept the pelt, though there have reportedly been sightings as recent as the early 2000s.
There's some really weird stuff in this world if you dig deep enough.

Yeah, when multiple different seperate cultures beileve in the same entity, I'm more inclined to beileve in it's existance. That the same thing with Jersey Devil, even though the Europeans tried to claim that one as something that started with their demon children or something, The Pine Glades in the south of Jersey were refered to by some name that translated from a name that meant "Realm of the Dragon" or something along those lines in the Lenne Lenope language, which are the Deleware river area indian tribe. There aren't as many stories discribing something resembling the Jersey Devil in other parts of the world though, so it's probably less likely than Bigfoot.
Hmm, thats an interesting story. Were there a lot of sightings around the time of these cowboys? I personally am less inclined to beileve in sightings that happened after world war II, and definatly after 2000 I'm almost completely incapable of beileving someone made such a sighting unless they can prove it irrefutably. Like beileveable photographic evidence.
Yeah, it's facinating. Theres actually supposibly a haunted bridge down the road from us that a headless horseman rides on during blue moons. he and his horse both are headless. What makes it weirder is there is a horseman statue after the bridge. Apparently there was some murder at a hotel that used to be near there back in the revolutionary war days. The guy who ran the hotel killed the guy and his horse, decapitated them, and dumped the bodies in a well. And now he rides on the bridge on certain nights during the winter. I've never seen it though, I've just read about it.

It might be hard to get a photo because it's a bird. There are some pretty old looking pictures of "hunted" Thunderbirds, but it's impossible to tell if they're 100% legit... And the sightings have been sporadic, definitely not as frequent as the Jersey Devil or Bigfoot.
Yeah, I've heard about that. I've also seen a special on the History channel about those murders.

I guess so. Maybe it's just a mirage created from a circling vulture or something. People are just dilerious from the heat, see a big bird, AHHHHHH, THUNDERBIRD!!!
REALLY!? I figured that was just some tiny local thing, they have a special on that!? Are we both thinking of Pennypacker Mills?

Maybe. It could be like the Mothman where skeptics say that it's just owls in car headlights and in the split second that people see it they freak out and think it's some kind of monster.
It was part of a TV series called "Haunted History" which goes over some haunted places in America and gives the history and back story of hauntings. I don't remember if the show said if it was Pennypacker Mills, but it definitely said PA.

Ha ha ha ha, I've had that happen! Except we knew it was an owl. It was when I went to test drive my first car, it like, almost bounced off the windshiled. There was almost one less intelectual in the 100 Acre Wood!
Hmmm, interesting. I'd really like to see that sometime to see if thats the same place. Did it mention Schwenksville PA?

Have you ever heard of a Dullahan? It's the Celtic version of the headless horseman, except it's a lot more vicious and it's terrified of gold. A Dullahan is similar to a grim reaper.

Hmm, thats one I've never heard of. That sounds facinating. So you like, kill it with a golden dagger or something?
The one I'm really facinated by was the british Black Shuck aka Phantom Black Dogs. They are spirit dogs that exist for different reasons in britian, and have tons and tons of sightings. Sometimes they do good things, other times they do bad things. Like theres a church somewhere in England that had a dog appear inside and there are actually claw marks burned into the door from it trying to escape. 3 people died, and one was severely burned by the encounter. Another one I read was about this woman out for a walk, when out of nowhere one appeared and walked beside her, all of a sudden a group of like thugs came walking down the street, and passed her by. After that when she got home the dog disappeared. The next morning she heard a woman was raped and murdered on that road by that same group of guys, so the dog protected her in that case. They actually have like hotels and stuff named after this dog, and it has dozens of names. There also apparently is a version of it that appeared in Gemany, ones that appear in Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, and apparently theres a version that gather along Route 66 here as well. It's facinating how many versions there are of this one story, both for good and for bad.

The Dullahan is said to always be riding in the night, and whenever he stops, someone dies. Unlike the headless horseman of America, the Dullahan actually carries his head around, tucked under his arm. It's said the the Dullahan will also pour a bucket of blood on someone who sees him riding past, signaling an omen that the bloodied person is likely to die next. The Dullahan also has a whip (supposedly a human spine) that will whip out the eyes of any bystander.
According to some websites, any amount of gold will protect you, though they do not say if you can actually kill a Dullahan. Based on the nature of it, I doubt you could.
Yeah, I love the stories of the Black Hounds of Britain like Black Shuck and Gytrash.

Jeez, this thing sounds like a genuine badass, and now that I think about it, I think there was a headless swordsman in Castlevainia SotN called a Dullahan.
Ohhhh, so physically carrying gold protects you, indeed. Figures he likes rich people.
Yeah, those are my favorite. I'd love to encounter a good one someday. Also, just spending hours reading about Japanese legends. I was doing that one night because of Okami, and I just kept reading about other crazy legends, like the Demon who licks your bathroom clean at night, and the posessed bathrobe that runs away from you and hides. There are literally hundreds of just off the wall legends like that, and I find them all hilarious and facinating.

Hahaha
I did a report in Japanese class last year about Japanese folklore and myths, and there was just so much stuff that I couldn't include it all in my 5 minute presentation. Japanese folklore usually involves old people doing bad things, kinda creepy. Hahaha

Oh yeah, it is really disturbingly full of dirty old men. That and strangely colored animals, and mundane objects that do equally mundane magic. And then there are like the badass Warrior Tengu and stuff that dismember you horribly like that ridiculous skeleton, and other disturbing violent things like that
It's hard to beileve there are only a couple of legends in our huge contenent, and yet Japan has like hundreds of them on a tiny island

Japan has a much longer history though, and they wrote stuff down a lot, whereas say Britain spent much of the past millennium at war and stuff. The Japanese usually just pirated other countries and had feudal skirmishes, which means that their culture stayed relatively unpolluted from the outside.
And in our modern society, there is an unbalanced ratio of skeptics that try to prove everything with SCIENCE!

I guess thats true, they did like, take records of stuff, and just spent lots of time trying to appease giant tree gods. Their culture I guess allows for more ridiculous legends I guess, since there was no threat of being burned or hanged for your beilefs by the pope
Indeed, thats true too. I remember this one scheptic guy on this one show, he was totally talking out of his ass for certain explainations of certain things, like Spontanious Human Combustion. He would come up with the most ridiculous explainations that sound like the trap from the boardgame Mouse Trap. Scheptics like that who don't understand logic just don't make sense.

Hahaha, all this talk of weird Japanese monsters reminds me of my favorite boss fight from Okami: those dapper clothed, time-bending mechanical owls. Best. fight. ever.

Yeah, I liked that one
My favorites are The Spider queen and Oki. Spider queen because it was the first boss battle and it had such an epic Ghoma style feeling. Oki because he was the only hard boss I ever faced in that game. I liked the challenge.

he wasn't hard, he actually just fought differenty than everyone else, who couldn't even touch me most of the time. He was just different and challenging. He was the only enemy I ever fought who actually made me use my first and only astral pouch, I had 2 others of course, but still. Anyone else couldn't even get me close to half way.
