That was AWESOME!!
We definately were awesome against that final boss, we were so synchronised in whooping him down, simply amazing. Those last levels are ridiculously hard. Now we're just gonna have to get 100% prizes and treasure.
And what do you think is good and bad about the current design of my level? I really think some aspects need improvement, and I wanted to tell you more about it, but that text thing takes forever, so I'd have to show you in detail with mics and stuff. One thing I wanted to find out was, did you think that part with the fan and the heater core is too difficult of a shot? Or should it be that hard of a shot. And I definately want to switch out those fans, we'll just have to get the motorbolt versions of those fans from the Metropolis.

I think it's a little dark so people might be confused on where to go next.

You know, your the second person whose said that, I might change that now. At first I thought it set a mood, but I guess I can brighten it up a little out of nessesity. I just like using the spotlights and LEDs to see in certain places. I'll play with the lighting next. Right now I'm working on the main section of the level, which parts of I actually made up in a dream. It'll be tough though, theres a lot of timing to put in place.
Once I'm done this level, I want to start the desert wilderness level, and I want to come up with the ideas together on that one. I'm just doing this project as something of a learning experence, and as an artpiece of sorts. I wanna come up with the ideas for the desert level with you, kinda let you take the lead to inspire ideas for me and hopefully I can inspire you as well.

So I fixed the lighting, but now I'm in a slight form of writers block, except for levels, like level block or something. I'm not quite sure what I wanna do next with this level, I have a few more ideas, but I don't know how to put them all together in a way that makes a good level. Whats odd, is one of my ideas is actually kind of topical now, since I had a meltdown senerio as part of the factory, I came up with before the earthquake, and now it's happening for real in Japan. I just wonder how I wanna do that now, among many other things.

You know, I actually wouldn't mind starting the desert without finishing that other. That is if you wanted to start it with me? I guess we could come up with the ideas here. I'll discribe some of the ideas I have so far and you can see what you think and post anything you can think of
Alright, so I was thinking we start the level on the outskirts of some desert town, have some story character sitting there, asking the player if they are sure if they really wanna walk out that way, as it would be the last town they encounter for a long time, and theres nothing but desert beyond anyway. Naturally sackboy and the player basically ignore this warning. after that comes a long walk. A really long walk. After that, I'm not sure what I want to happen, but I want there to be a big sudden change, like either sinking into the sand or a sandstorm or something, but then you find yourself in a totally different looking desert. and thats when the real level starts. From there I want hilly terrain like dunes and stuff, as well as portions of mountains, which I want jumping cacti on, which will just be big cacti with falling arms with spikes attached to them, they'll jump when the character walks close like the real thing. Another idea I had was eventually they would discover an indian village, I had some archatechtural designs in mind that would just look really cool. Like having that clay Pueblo look in some places, while having other more traditional designs elsewhere. I was also thinking potentially having native americans spirit characters within the level as well, like either in the town or maybe a cemetery section.
I think I would really want you to take the lead on this design, since you know the desert better than me. Plus I saw what you did with SotC, and I love that look, and I think that could really be applied well to this concept. I have a lot of ideas too, so our combined skills could be very good for this.

Hahaha, LBP lacks some of the familiar elements to the Southwest desert, but I guess we could start on the level. School's gonna start up next week though, keep that in mind.
And I like your idea how the level will suddenly change.

Hahaha, LBP lacks some of the familiar elements to the Southwest desert, but I guess we could start on the level. School's gonna start up next week though, keep that in mind. And I like your idea how the level will suddenly change. Oh, so you get two weeks of spring break? Or wait, do you mean tommarow? Ugh, I hate sundays, Ha ha ha But anything they don't have we can just make. I was looking at a lot of cool pictures last night, and I already have a cool indian section thought up based on this picture Having each of the doors lead to secrets, and being able to swing on the posts, I know how I can make almost everything in that image, except I wanna make the scale so much larger, like some huge indian city or something. And yeah, as far as the sudden change thing, remember in the Ico level when the bridge forces you to die, and then the checkpoint respawns you someplace new? I wanna learn how to do that, because if this works as I imagine, it'll be really awesome. Also, I wish I knew how to do the lighting changes, because I have an idea where I want it to as your walking, the sun gets brighter and brighter, like your under a pounding sun, then it suddenly gets darker before the change, like maybe a sandstorm is coming. And maybe thats how the level changes, like you get caught in a sandstorm, and that causes you to respawn somewhere else, inside the real begining of the level. Don't let the limitations of the game limit you, come up with any crazy insane ideas you want, just go crazy, and no matter how difficult it sounds to make, we can try to find a way to make it, we know we've seen some amazing stuff in this game, so nothing seems impossible. Thats the beauty of designing your own idea, it can be anything, especially with the tools this game gives us. And don't let me run too far ahead of you on this idea, I want this to be OUR idea, not just mine, Ha ha ha ha. Besides, you know the desert, and have tons of great ideas, and a good attention to detail. You could rock this idea I think

So I did a ton of practice today. I made this big crazy practice room, it has all kinds of stuff just laying around. It's the kind of play room you would enjoy practice in
But I have found a ton of great community levels we'll have to play as well
Also, We also need to play the GotY levels, MGS and stuff, I forgot!

Yeah, I saw that you were in a creation level for hours today. I was a bit busy trying to do missions in MvC3 though, I hate them so much...
I've played one or two MGS levels from the GotY package, I remember them being awesome.

Yeah, I noticed, I didn't want to break your concentration during a fight or something, so I didn't want to bother you, Ha ha. Yeah, those take a certain mindset to get done, it's frustrating. It takes a lot of concentration. A little at a time seems to work best. I was just sitting around listening to music, looking at pictures, and experimenting with different ideas. I've got some alright looking buildings that we could use for this real level when we get it started. I've got a few other ideas, but the level just looks like a big dumpster right now, stuff just laying around everywhere, Ha ha ha. Also, I have a great suprise with a community object that I found.
Yeah, I've seen a few when my neighbor got it new and bought the MGS package. Never seen the end though. Lots of awful Paintinator stuff though. I hate the Paintinator. especially when you have no other choice but to use it.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha h ha, we really need to learn how to focus when we're working on a level, so we just don't end up building nonsense all the time, hah ah a ha ha
but yeah, we'll have to play some of those levels later. I think the lunar lander level is a 1 player only level. We have pleanty of others I've found though. Plus the GotY stuff
Also, what did you think of my building designs, and all that before we started building rockets and blowing stuff up, Ha ha ha ha

Yeah, that's mostly my fault because I just can't focus on building a whole level. Heck, I was proud of myself for sitting down and finishing Agro. Hahaha
They were nice looking, when rockets weren't trying to destroy them like Godzilla.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, awwww. Maybe we just need to find the right kind of mindset to get into so we can seriously focus, or possibly just get ideas, because your always good when it comes to original ideas, it's just getting to focusing those ideas.
Ha ha ha ha hah, yeaaah. I really wanna expand the whole building section of the game, so by the time that part is done, it's just like this huge maze of a city. I want it to be cool like that boat level we were in. Also, I wanna fix those flipper panels, so they work the way I want them to like that one flipper in Yggdrasil, so it's a controlled toss, not a ridiculous fling that sends you like 500 feet in the air like my current design. That was fun though, Ha ha ha ha

So I'm working on that machine level right now
I'm about 75% done, I just need to figure out how I wanna finish the level out. What do you think I should do? I'm building an underground catacomb/cave right now under the factory. I was thinking mining elements here, but I'm just not sure what I should do.

It's no big deal, It's just weird to see your icon with 5 days next to it. It's spooky, Ha ha ha. But I don't want to mess with your habits, PS2 is very good too. I should play some PS2 games as well, but I'm on a push to finish my current LBP level. I might wanna revisit Okami soon though.
Indeeeeed. What, Is Steam already on PS3?
I don't want to bother you though, My PS3 just seems to really like you and asked me where you were. Keep playin what your playing.
